Product Description This long-standing tradition was continued by writer-traveller Bruce Chatwin who used to buy his moleskines at an old Paris stationery shop in Rue de l'Ancienne Comedie where he would always stock up before embarking on one of his journeys. Over the years he had developed a veritable ritual. Before using them he would in fact number the pages, writing on the inside his name and at least two addresses across the world, and a message promising a reward for anyone finding and returning the notebook in case of it being lost. He even suggested this method to his friend Luis Sepulveda, when he gave him a precious moleskine as a present for a journey they were planning to undertake together in Patagonia. And there was no doubt as to how precious it was, given that at the time even the last moleskine manufacturer, a small family-run firm of Tours, had discontinued production in 1986. 'Le vrai moleskine n'est plus' was the short and curt statement of the owner of the stationery shop where Chatwin had ordered one hundred before leaving for Australia. Despite having literally swept up all the Moleskines he could find, they were not enough. Now, the moleskine is back again. This silent and discreet keeper of an extraordinary tradition, which has been missing for years, has set out again on its journey. A witness to contemporary nomadism, it can once again pass from one pocket to another to continue the adventure. The sequel still waits to be written and its blank pages are ready to tell the story.

Sometimes, the hype is warranted. December 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This journal is wonderful. The high-quality paper is compatible with every pen I have used, from the cheapest of disposable ballpoints to my beloved fountain pens. The journal is both small enough to fit in a pocket, and durable enough to carry with me all day, every day. The pages are a little too small for extended writing, but are perfect for notes, quotes, ideas, and lists. Like the sketchbook, the pages are unruled, but the sketchbook pages are heavier, thus fewer. This Moleskine is unquestionably the best value for money in a notebook of its size.
Pocket Size Greatness December 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This notebook is perfect for situations where you want to stick something in your pocket. It easily fits in your back pocket. It also has a back pocket for storing business cards, notes, etc.
While small is good, it's possible to be too small. This gets to the limit on how small I'd consider since you can only write a few words per line.
I miss it... October 4, 2007 I bought two of these and I loved it!! It was small enough to bring around no matter where I was and it came in on time and in great condition!!I really like the strap too.
Great little notebook August 7, 2007 This is a great little book that you can use for jotting down notes, journaling or anything else you want to write. It fits nicely into a purse. It also is of very good quality and is very sturdy.
portable and sturdy July 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this rascal sure is handy! in the past i've tried to document my often tangential and rambling streams of thought with scraps of paper and flimsy "memo" notebooks, which all end up getting lost or falling on the ground where strangers can catch incoherent glimpses of my otherwise secret inner world. but this notebook does the trick- it's small enough to fit in my pocket, so i can bring it with me anywhere- when i'm out walking, on the train, etc. And, it's sturdy as a wallet. of course, i wish it was cheaper, but i can't think of anything that compares.
