Inexpensive Fix November 22, 2008 My journey to fixing my Blackberry 8100 trackball started with looking online for repair services. The first I found charged around $70, so I went to the T-Mobile store to see if they could assist. They directed me to Customer Care phone support, and after being on hold for about 15 minutes, the answer was, "It's not under warrantee, you don't have insurance, sorry." I then started looking again for online fixes. This part sells at a range between $5 and $50, installation not included. I was pleased that I was able to get such a small part, at such a great price, from this seller. Without any resources or "how to" I found that this was an easy fix, just dropping the trackball into the hole, and gently clicking the silver ring cover (the side w/o prongs towards the LCD), and voila, good as new!
Great product, great price. November 7, 2008 There is no need to pay OEM prices. I replaced the trackball on my Pearl 8100 when it gave out, and this one is perfect. No complaints.
Perfect fit for Curve October 31, 2008 Works perfectly in my BB Curve. The old trackball was stained from a a broken compact in my makeup bag, and after I tried to clean it up, the trackball would stick once in a while. With the replacement it is like new! The replacement, at least to me, looks *exactly* like the old trackball. I'm thinking about buying another one to have on hand in case I need it!
Works ok, maybe my phone is beyond repair. August 20, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Worked fine, however I can no longer click with the trackball. However, I think that might be an issue on my part since I had the circuitry exposed for a couple of weeks after my trackball broke. Worth the buy as a replacement.
Saved the day August 7, 2008 My blackberry track ball stopped working, took it to a local phose store who told me to buy anew phone, found this product on Amazon and installed it by myself, now, the phone is as good as new. Saved me $$$$$$
