 Responsive KINDLE September 6, 2008
The KINDLE has been super. I can enjoy the WSJ instantly each morning, plus I enjoy reading several different books during the day at different times... they are always available and appear upon demand at the very page I last read. My several travel trips each year will now not only be lighter, but more enjoyed -- thanks to the KINDLE!
Mature geek? September 6, 2008
I love my kindle. My daughter says I qualify for geekdom at age 76!!! It is light, and easy for me to hold. Would like to have a lighted background. Perhaps there is, and I have not found it yet? The books I ordered came up in moments. All in all, very happy to have, and this is one product that will not collect dust. Thank you!!!
Worth the Money September 6, 2008
To be honest, I was afraid the Kindle was too much money and may be "gimmicky". I am thoroughly happy with the Kindle after owning and using it for the last 6 weeks. It is very user friendly to set-up and downloading is a breeze. A very fast breese! The Kindle is easier to read from and more convenient than a book. I read more and enjoy it more.
I am very satisfied with the product and the cost.
Gift for daughter September 6, 2008
We bought a Kindle for our daughter, who is an avid reader. She loves it. She has found a lot of new and old books to read already, and the price for them is great. I'm thinking we need to buy another one (or two) for us.

For the most part, this book is useful for downloading and reading books.
For someone like me, who spends a lot of time on the road, the main attraction is the convenience of being able to shop for books and download them instantly. But you get the added versatility of being able to send emails and visit a few ( but not all) of your websites. A few criticisms: 1) the Kindle sometimes locks up; haven't figured out why this happens, but you have to press the reset button to restart. 2) It's too easy to flip a page by mistake because the buttons are too big. 3) not all websites that I visit can be accessed. Maybe this isn't always bad (grin). Overall, it's a nice, little product that has become second nature to me to keep around.
