About Everlast The name Everlast is synonymous with boxing. Renown internationally as a manufacturer of boxing equipment, Everlast started out as a swimwear manufacturer in 1910. Headquartered in the Bronx, NY, the company was founded by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, Jacob Golomb was dissatisfied with the durability of swimsuits because they barely lasted a season, so he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name, Everlast. Although the swimsuits did not last through the years, the name did. Over the next years, Golomb expanded his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Golomb specially designed the training gear for Dempsey. In 1919, Dempsey won the world's heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb. Everlast became the headquarters for boxing equipment throughout the world. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks then worn by boxers. These trunks, now known as boxer trunks, immediately became famous. Jacob Golomb ran the business until he passed away in the early 1950's and his son, Dan, took over. In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50% of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf purchased the family's remaining 50% interest. Nadorf remained the President and Principle Share Holder of Everlast until October 24, 2000. Everlast men's and women's apparel and accessories continue today to be tremendously successful both inside and outside the ring. In addition, Everlast boxing trunks and equipment remain the proud and undefeated champion of the boxing industry for more than 90 years. The history continues, as the name states. Everlast has a traditional past and a knockout future.

Everlast Folding Exercise Mat 72-Inch by 24-Inch May 1, 2010 Karen Cuva (CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an excellent mat. It is firm enough that you don't feel the floor and soft enough to absorb pressure. We use it for abdominal work.
Good multi-purpose mat April 16, 2010 BC (Utah) Used to exercise a few times a week and has been nice. I like that it can double as a mattress for the kids with sleepovers or just watching tv.
Exercise Mat April 2, 2010 Jdoc (West Virginia) I believe this mat is thick enough and comfortable. Better than the other ones I have had. Wide enough,no. My arms slip off the side when I do one of my exercises. If it was six inches or more wider it would be better. But I like the way it folds and I can put it against my wall in the living room. I would recommend it. I bought it used and it was like new, except it had a few tiny small tears on one side.
Owned them before (Great Quality) February 5, 2010 Brent A. Wahl 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Received as a gift 2 of these many years ago. Need 2 more so just bought 2 more. They are excellent for many purposes and besides looking good are well built and perform well. If you need a folding mat that is strong and well made, I strongly recommend this product. (First product lasted over 10 years and the new product seems to be the same quality)
Ok mat but NOT like the older version July 15, 2009 momofmany (Louisiana USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Not worth the price I paid. I purchased 2 of these mats in search of the Everlast mats that are like the ones in my gym. These look the same but they aren't solid like the old ones. They are better than some of the cheaper versions but again, NOT worth the price. If you expect to get a good sturdy mat like Everlast used to make, this mat is NOT it! I guess they just don't make them like the older version. The original Everlast mats weren't made of sponge. Don't know what they were made of but they're much better than these and yes, my ORIGINAL mats are still going strong. I'm not sure these will last very long at all.
You can see in the picture how the vinyl looks wrinkled. That's because it is and it doesn't fit tight like the original. $[..] would have been worth the price for the original but not for this one, definitely not the $[..] they are asking now!
