Satisfactory November 2, 2008 This watch/clock/heart monitor does the job. A positive point is that it really sensible, you get your heart monitor not only in the wrist but in many different points of the arm. As negative, but minor, I highlight that the watch does not show date and, the worst, there is no option for continuous heart monitoring. Yes, it is necessary to press the watch agains't the wrist (simultanous with the heart monitor button (the central one)), to obtain a single data. It is somehow complicated if you arr running a 800 m fast shot, or 400 m... but for long runnings it is ok.
Good buy! August 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Solo 900 is easy to use with a simple press of a button to get your heart rate. I would have liked the unit to come with guidelines for my age and weight for my heart rate during workouts. However, for anyone looking for a heart rate monitor for their workouts that's economical and not complicated in use it's a good buy.
Perfect For Me.... August 16, 2008 Since I am just breaking into the whole gym scene, this watch was perfect for me. Not many bells and whistles but easy to operate. I've even been able to use it during a spin class without falling off the bike!
A little disruptive May 27, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my first heartrate monitor and I really didn't want the kind that wraps around the chest, so I bought this one. It's kind of cumbersome to have to press the button for a reading and it requires a solid push & hold to get the reading. I guess I'll go for a chest-strap next time.
Very Functional-Excellent Value May 21, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This heartrate monitor cost under $30 and I love it. It's simple, few bells and whistles, but for my needs right now, it's perfect. I did not want to wear a chest strap because I find any additional encumbrance while working out to be an irritant. With the watch on your wrist, to measure your heartrate you simply depress a large button on the front for a few seconds. It's easy to do even if you're running or working out. The large display gives the reading--according to the literature accurate to within 1 heartbeat per minute--in seconds. Don't buy this if you want to download to your computer or look at a graph of heartrate over time. I suspect that at some point I might want to do that, and I will need to upgrade. But to manually monitor your heartrate during a work out to see if you're in the zone, this watch is perfect. Simple, inexpensive, well-made and functional. (Also includes an alarm, stopwatch, and a large, easily read digital face with a light.)
