Product Description Comfortably secured to your wrist, this easy-to-use 960 Pedometer heart rate watch is a mini-motivator that counts steps, tracks distance, measures speed, monitors exercise time, and even calculates calories burned. And that's just for starters. Add in dual-time display, a chronograph, count-down timer, 7-day and 10-week memory, and an EL backlight, and you've got a fitness watch that offers everything you need!
Amazon.com Product Description Easily measure your intensity level whether standing still or running in full stride with the Solo 960 heart rate watch. Boasting Sportline's patented One-Touch technology, the watch responds to a single touch of the finger to deliver accurate EKG heart rate readings, so you can stay focused on your next lap, rep, or whatever else lies ahead. The Solo 960 also calculates your target heart rate zone and counts your calories burned, helping you design the optimum workout. And best of all, the Solo 960 doesn't require an uncomfortable chest belt, nor do you have to stand still to measure your pulse. Easy to use, accurate, and responsive, the Solo 960 lets you cruise at your own speed with no strings (or anything else) attached. Other details include 12- and 24-hour time settings, a large digital backlit display, a three-beat speed sensor, and an out-of-zone alarm. The Solo 960 is also backed by a one-year warranty.

Sportline August 30, 2008 Great product, easy to set up. If you don't agree with the max heart rate the watch assigns to your sex, age, etc., simply adjust by changing your age. For example, if the watch assigns you a max heart rate of 140, but it is really 190, just reduce the age input down until you get to 190. Controls are very easy to use, big watch face so easy to read while exercising. Accurate readings, and convenient whether you are running, walking, or sitting. Highly recommend this as a good value - listed retail at company website is ~$100, I got it here for about $65.
I love this watch! May 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a feminine, older, and slim woman coming out of surgery where I need to get a certain amount of quality exercise. One has to read the instructions carefully, but I find no difficulty using this watch. I wear is daily as my regular watch - just in case I can get in exercise during lunch, etc. It is advertised as a man's watch - but I find it looks just fine for a woman. I like very much the large read out, the calorie counter and the fact that it measure distances. I like to know how the distance walked in the neigborhood. As it relates to the hear monitor - no problem ever. The instructions state that you might need to moisten your finger to get a reading. I seldom have to do that. It is a neat, sturdy, multitasking watch - not too difficult for anyone to learn to use, and not too ugly for a woman.
BAD CHOICE - BAD PRICE March 27, 2008 As others have stated, the heart rate monitor rarely works. You have to press gently, but not too gently. It reads your heart rate less than 9 out of 10 times. The pedometer is EXAGGERATED. It will read the slightest arm movement...and never leave it on while driving. It will count at least 4000 steps in a 30 min drive. The calories are DEFLATED. It is read as (KC) instead of calories. I called the Sportline Headquarters twice for actual conversion and they can't give me a straight answer. This is not worth buying.
It is also ugly and too big for any sized individual.
The Sportline Solo 920 is an excellent and inexpensive choice (even the 925 is too costly for its worth). Use a waist pedometer and you're good to go.
Sportline Heart Monitor! January 16, 2008 All features of this watch are fine except for the heart rate monitory. Nine times out of 10 you will not receive any type of reading when pressing the button. I have tried with my index finger, thumb, directly after cleaning the button with antiseptic wipes and the watch will only give a reading 9 out of 10 times. If you are looking for a watch that monitors excercise such as a pedometer there are better products, if you are serious about monitoring you heart rate do not waste the money on this product!!!!!!!!!!!
Not as described January 13, 2008 This product is not as described on the website. In order to get your heartrate you have to push the heart rate button each time to see it on the watch. This is really more of an expensive pedometer than a heartrate watch. We were looking for a true heartrate watch.
