Disappointed - Poor High Frequency Response November 22, 2008 I typically like the sound of Bose products, so I tried these out after being disappointed in some more expensive Shure earphones. The Bose sounded fairly natural with good lower end response, but muddy in the higher frequencies. I ended up returning these and buying the Sennheiser CX-500, which I am fairly happy with. As a point of reference, I did like these better than the Shure SE-310K and Sony MDR-EX71SL, but less than the Sennheisers or Grado SR125 headphones. These might suit you, but trying is believing. I had purchased these from Bose, and was able to return them without difficulty. See my review of the Shure earphones for further thoughts.
Don't waste your money. November 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've returned these things 6 times to Bose. Bad wiring are the cause and no matter how many times you tell them to fix the wiring they never do. Don't waste your money.
The best set I've owned. November 20, 2008 I've owned a $20 set of Sony ear buds, $10 set of JVC's, the ear buds that come with the iPods in general, and a bunch of over the ear headphones as well. The best I've ever owned, and that I still use at home, are a set of expensive Sony over the ear headphones that have not had a competitor...until now. The little ear buds are not only the best ear bud style headphones I've owned, but also comparable, if not as good as my more expensive over the ear ones. They have a very rich sound with plenty of bass. I hesitated for about a year + before finally dishing out the $100 to purchase these, but wish I had bought them earlier. They are extremely comfortable, far more so than any of the previously mentioned ear buds I've tried. The cord is the right length, and the plug is very slim, enabling an unobtrusive fit into the case I have for my iPod. Since this purchase, I find myself only reaching for this set when any type of headphone is needed for any reason.
Great unless you walk or jog November 19, 2008 My sister gave me a set of the Bose Triport In-Ear Headphones last spring. Mine are the latest version.
The sound from my iPod with the Bose TriPorts is really good, much better than using the somewhat less-expensive Sony's I have. The sound is nice and full and more "life like."
One thing that has not been a problem is the silicone tips coming off the earphone. The redesign evidently improved what had been a problem.
For me, though, the greatest negative is that the earphones keep getting loose in my ears while I'm walking. I am constantly having to adjust one earphone or the other because of their getting loose. Eventually, they will fall out of the ear. I've tried all three sizes but to no avail.
If you're sitting while listening to music or an audiobook, these are great. If you're going to use them while exercising, even walking a few miles, they may not work best for you.
Try BEFORE you buy November 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am sure that these will work well for someone, but not me. They did not fit comfortably in my ears and have a tendency to fall out. I strongly suggest trying them out BEFORE you spend $100.00 on earbuds.
