5 out of 5 stars Newbie Review   October 2, 2008

I just started working out with my KB about a month a go or so. So far I like it, there are so many things I can do with it and I am feeling my muscles in a very different way from working out with barbells.
I could not believe how much my hearth rate went up the fisrt time I did the swings! Pavel describes the KB training as "Cardio without the emberresement of aerobics", he is right.
I would definatly recoment this type of exercise not just for men but for the ladies also, I didn't think many woman trained this way but just do a search on line and you will see that is not true.
I hope this helps.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for training   September 11, 2008

I purchased this item after watching some UFC fighters training with them and I must admit that it is definitely different from using a regular dumbbell. I have a 35lb hex style dumbbell and I have used it for years but I love the kettle bell. For some reason the 35lb kettle bell feels heavier. I think its the distribution of the weight. Great buy, very happy with the item.

5 out of 5 stars absolutely the best functional strength trainer.   April 10, 2008

absolutely the best overall functional strength developer there is. depending on the weight, kettle bells can be utilized to develop lactate threshold or anaroebic conditioning. they teach and modify full body mobility and coordination, allowing for more efficiency of movement and economy of motion.

What does all that mean? it means that you move better feel lighter, and function more cleanly than you would otherwise. I am an army physical therapy tech, and every single one of my patients who comes in leaves with a kettle bell routine.

3 out of 5 stars odd shaped handle   March 3, 2008

I purchased the 35lb. wide handle "bell" first. Since I had never worked out with one before I had nothing to compare to and loved everything about it. The wide handle is great for 2 handed excercises (swings). In the begining I had no problems with the handle for one handed exercises. As my strength grew I found my self wanting a heavier bell and purchased a 53 pounder from a different maker. The 53 has a more standard (non wide) handle. After the first workout I realized that I like the standard handle much better! Doing cleans, snatches, and presses all feel better because my hand finds the right "spot" in the handle quicker and easier. With the wide handle I have to make a conscious effort to get my hand in the right position. This isn't that big of a deal, but it is enough of a deal for me to stick with the standard handle in the future. If someone was sticking mainly with 2 handed swings, no doubt the wide handle would be the way to go. Just my opinion.

5 out of 5 stars The attatck of the Kettlebells!!!!   March 3, 2008

This is a great product. I love the wide handle. The color is a deep grey. I have named my Kettle bell... Boris. I liked this one so much and wanted to do double balanced exercises, that I bought a second identical one. I named this one Ivan. They are great! I use the work outs provided by Pavel. And...let me tell you something...his stuff works! I am 47 and let myself go myself go to shi...I am using Pavel's program and getting stronger every day! Buy these and work out if you have let yourself go and have become a pudy wudgy girly man. Work out and feel great! No bull. If you stick to the program. You will see a change! The price for the Kettlebell is not bad either. IF you go to Dragon door, Pavel's Kettles are more money! And the shipping will kill you! Work out! Feel great! Do something good for someone today! WOO HOOO!!!
