Simple & Effective May 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got these not too long ago, and they've been working great for me. I got them from a discount store around town for a really good deal, so I figured, why not try 'em?
I'm a bigger guy, 6' at 200, and I've had no problems with the bars supporting my weight. They help put less strain on my wrist and the foam is thick enough to protect my hands. I could already do about 50 or so without them, so hopefully I can get that number up after using these.
There could be better ones out there, but do you really need to be spending thirty bucks on push up bars? These are a good deal and work as well as any others.
best thing for push-ups since the sliced bread February 17, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been using these for months now and very happy with the results. No more wrist pain and the push-ups are much more controlled amd powerful ! You can change the positioning (parallel or perpendicular to your body) to put more emphasis on triceps or chest muscles- not something easily done without this equipment. And of course, change the width between the stands too.
They must be placed on the floor exactly as shown in the picture, so the grip is on the middle bar with the two "end" bars resting on the floor. Position them any other way and you may get injured.
don't waste your money!! October 5, 2006 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
I'm usually very pleased with the purchases from Everlast. However, This was something that doesn't work for me. First, I'll tell you I'm a pretty big guy: 6'1", 260 lbs. The first time I used the push up bars, they bent-all the way to the floor-almost pinched my fingers on the ground!! Besides my weight, but the force of "pushing-up" caused them to bend. Unless you look like the thin guy from the picture in the ad, average about 165lbs, small frame, don't waste your money. Also, the grips are very thin, and very uncomfortable for those with big hands. I would just go get the $10 ones from Wal Mart, they are much more stable on the ground and won't BEND the first time you use it!
