Product Description
Strawberries & Cream Wax Plant - Hoya carnosa Hoya carnosa is one of 100 species of Hoya that are native to Eastern Asia and Australia. The this easy to grow houseplant Hoya carnosa was named for Thomas Hoym, gardener to the Duke of Northumberland at the end of the 18th century. Blooming Time: Summer: Clusters of attractive, star shaped, pink-white blossoms are produced in summer. The delicate flowers appear to be made of porcelain and are truly unique. Culture: Hoya carnosa does best in at least 4 hours of bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight. Night temperatures of 60 to 65 degrees and day temperatures of 70 degrees or higher are optimal. Water freely during flowering but allow the soil to become almost dry between waterings when the plants are not rapidly growing. Fertilize every 2 months in spring and summer. Do not remove the leafless spurs or stubs, on which new flowers appear every year. Propagation: Hoya carnosa can be propagated at anytime by air layering or by stem cuttings. A portion of the stem including one or more pairs of leaves will quickly produce roots in water or damp sand.

5 out of 5 stars Strawberries & Cream Wax Plant   August 18, 2008
I have had the wax plant for over 30 years and have found that it blooms profusly when it is root bound and kept in a sunny location in the house. It doesn't like to be moved. I have given away many starts and those who have received the gift have also been pleased. It will take awhile for it to become rootbound in order to bloom, but the results are well worth it.

2 out of 5 stars Surprised   June 25, 2008
Plant is beautiful and healthy; but, does not look like picture shown. It looks like I bought the hanging basket instead of a planter.

5 out of 5 stars Great deal   June 4, 2008
There were 4 healthy, well-rooted plants in my pot. They were easy to separate, so now I got 4 plants for the price of one. The pot was big enough so that I could have left the plants in it, too.
The packaging was very good, there was no damage on either plants or pot.
I'm very happy with this purchase.

5 out of 5 stars waiting for flowers   May 2, 2008

I can't wait for this plant to bloom. I really hope that it does not take years. I just repotted it yesterday and am really happy with how well it traveled. I just hope that I am a good enough gardner to get it to grow.
