Love the idea, but product isn't all that November 22, 2008 When my daughter was born, I searched high and low for this turtle, ignoring bad reviews on the internet. I wanted to see it myself, and finally found it at a kid's boutique when my daughter was a few months old. True, no one has a tall dresser in the middle of a room, which would be the most desired place for this product to sit for it to work as intended. Still, it could be placed on a high book case and the stars will light up the wall and be faint on the ceiling. Green and blue lights work best. Amber can hardly be seen. When the batteries went out, I bought some and discovered that the batteries that came with the turtle (included as a "TRY ME" advantage) had corroded. They really didn't last long, and I figured that was why. Needless to say, new batteries didn't help. I wrote the comany and was told if I could find my receipt, and provided the turtle wasn't more than 90 days old, they would be happy to send me a new one if I paid for shipping. I didn't have a reciept and the turtle was more than a few months old. Point blank, if a company wants to market this as a high end child product, they should be more wary of customer complaints. Even with the weak lights and the bad reviews, I thought this was cute enough to be buying for every new baby out there. Now I will warn people against it. For the 30 dollar price tag, you'd be much better buying a glo-worm. My daughter's still works and she's thrown it and banged it against her crib. The "hand-painted" twilight turtle was never in her hands and thanks to the ridiculous company policy, she will never enjoy it.
Awesome Nightlight Option for the nursery November 18, 2008 I love this product and so does my 3 month old. He does better at night with a light on and this gives enought light to do the job. I love the stars and moon on the ceiling and think he does too
Wonderful gift November 17, 2008 I have a 4 yr old who adores this item. he can turn it on if he wakes up during the night for comfort. It also shuts itself off in 30 minutes. I recently gave this as a gift to a 3 yr old and he would not put it down. It makes him look forward to bedtime. I would gladly recommend this to anyone.
Good Turtle November 17, 2008 Turtle is Great for the kids, just a little cheaper quality than I expected for the price. Plastic shell is kinda flimsy. Lights work well, and have two modes.
Great Nightlight November 11, 2008 Our 3.5 year old figured out how to work it right away. It worked great to help get him to bed and I don't see that wearing off. He is facinated with figuring out the constellations (they give you a great book to help you figure out and find them). My only concern in reading other reviews was how would it work on his night stand (so that he could operate it during the night). It is fine there. Not great for viewing the constellations since they go from the ceiling to the walls but if we wanted to really identify the constellations we can simply move it to a different location for doing this. It is absolutly awsome! Also, you could easily transport it on trips and both my husband and I agreed that its soft light is actually soothing to us also and would not be a problem even if we were to be sharing a room with him.
