Good quality floor lamp September 24, 2008 Easy to install. Good workmanship. The difference between Hi and low intensity is not great but there is enough light for reading.
Very nice burl colored full spectrum floor lamp September 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this lamp for my son. The one thing I miss with this floor lamp is that it is not dimmable. The Verilux simply has a high-off-low switch. However, the Verilux comes with an attached tray for your TV remote control and holds a few other things like your cocktail. So, it is either dimmable or has a small table attached, the choice is yours, otherwise, they are almost identical. Oh, and by the way, the Verilux comes in a very nice burl finish. My son loves it.
My wife loves to knit and I bought the BLUEMAX full spectrum lamp for her. She also loves the ability to dim this lamp and the Spectrum Light. The Full Spectrum Solutions BLUEMAX lamp only came in black and white, but so does the Veriflux, plus a graphite gray which looks quite nice. She should have had this lamp when we lived in Seattle.
Great Lamp! Well Built!! Well-balanced color spectrum!! July 29, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My father had one of these lamps (minus the shelf) behind his easy chair for several years and my wife decided she liked reading & knitting with it so much that I bought her one of the Deluxe floorlamps (burl) with a shelf. She loves it. It's well-made and the diffuser works well and is cosmetically pleasing. The cheaper knock-off lamps do not have the diffuser.
It's relatively expensive, but it is an excellent lamp and energy efficient, using a wide spectrum fluorescent bulb. Don't be confused by some of the reviews, the spectrum of light is different for this type of bulb than soft white (or even the typical "natural light" florescents). The Verilux bulb is color balanced and does not cast a bluish tinge to the room like many of the "natural light" florescent lights.
These lamps are not made to brightly illuminate an entire room, so don't be disappointed. They are designed primarily for reading and hobbies. But, they are plenty bright for the purpose for which they were designed. Highly recommended!!
Save your eyes June 20, 2008 The light was all it was supposed to be. It was packed well, and went together easily. We do not use the dimmer choice on the light, but the high level makes it easier for us to read, especially for senior citizens. We look forward for many years of service.
Too little light May 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you want a tiny amount of light very focused on a tiny area, then this lamp will do the trick. Otherwise, avoid, avoid. If I could return the thing, I would.
