This is one of the best futons we have ever found for the money. A true 9-10 inch thick futon that will keep you happy for years. When buying a futon and frame, your most important decision is on the futon itself because this is where your comfort (or lack of) comes from. What makes this futon different are the two layers of 5 inch, high-resiliency Fibre-Foam. Fibre-Foam, unlike traditional urethane foams, does not breakdown over time when exposed to light and air. This special, blended foam was invented in Europe and it takes a special multi-million dollar machine, imported from 4 different European countries to blend natural cotton and polyester together. So in addition to this foam being more resilient and longer lasting than traditional urethane foams found in most other futons, the manufacturing process is much more environmentally friendly and helps to recylce raw materials used in other parts of the futon manufacturing process. Another feature of this foam is that it is very flexible. We know of no other futon this thick that can be used on just about any frame - whether a full length couch, a lounger or even a A-Frame (like our Stealth A-Frame). An exceptional value for an all-purpose, long-lasting and very comfortable futon.

Maybe I just got a "lemon" but after a couple weeks, this futon was very flat in the middle where I slept, so that I could feel the my frame's wooden slats underneath. The sides were still fluffy, so it was very concave and I ended up with a backache... I tried flipping it, etc., but it was hopeless so I went back to the old futon that this was meant to replace.

Like the description says, for the money, it is a fairly good futon mattress. However, I personally can't sleep on it. It is very lumpy and HARD. I've had it over a month and it hasn't fluffed up to anywhere near 9". It's more like 5 or 6 inches. I'm going to try to get a mattress pad/cover and see if it helps. Better than the floor, though.

You can really feel the difference in thickness- it is so much more comfortable than you would think. It has a good price-point. I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this matteress in Feb,it's still fluffy,and still good. my husband and I both sleep on this. and no trouble.
