Does not match the bed sold with it... November 29, 2008 This headboard would be fine, but it did not come with mounting brackets to attach it to the bed that it is recommended to go with... There is also about a centimeter of overlap that keeps the bedframe from nesting properly between the moldings.
It was really easy to put together. If I could mount it properly to the bedframe, I would give it 4 stars.
Great product for the price November 4, 2008 Pros: - Good looking - Doesn't feel cheap (after assembly) - Fairly easy assembly (be carful on the hammering parts. I hammered the plastic pegs in a little to hard and put a small dent in the top board of the unit.) - Inexpensive - FREE shipping!
Cons: - The finish comes off VERY easily. Mine had several gouges and scratches right out of the box. - The MDF is too thin to last more than a few years. (I would only buy this piece if you're expecting to replace it 2-5 years.) - You cannot set drinks or get the headboard wet in any way (according to the instruction manual) or the MDF will disintegrate.
Four stars for the extremely cheap finish. If this unit simply had a better finish it would be a five star piece I could recommend to anyone. As it is, though, I would still recommend this unit to anyone looking for an inexpensive headboard for a bedroom.
Love it! July 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i bought this headboard for my apartment, its great! The finish is beautiful and matches my other furniture perfectly. It comes in a HUGE box that is impossible for a small person like me to carry but is easy to assemble (if you follow the directions really closely). one of the down sides of the headboard is the finish isnt on all sides so its something to watch while assembling. Wood is nice but not real thick will last for at least three years and great for a starter headboard.
looks good, small drawers, chips easily May 6, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Overall this is great inexpensive furniture that looks good. It does chip easily and will probably not last more than a few years. But it's great for an apartment. My husband and I bought it to get us through apartment living for a few years before we get a house and a "real bedroom set". The one big negative is the depth of the drawers, they are really small. It was easy to assemble as long as you follow the directions line by line.
Awsome!! January 7, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was searching at Amazon.com for a sturdy and affordable bed for my 13 year old son. When I came across this Manhattan Full/Queen Bookcase Headboard in Espresso Finish, I thought it was perfect. Words can not describe how please my son and I are with this purchase. The color is rich and it is solid and sturdy. I don't think I could have found something better for the price I paid. It was money well spent. I am going to purchase the matching Dresser and Night Stand. I definately recomment this product.
