1 out of 5 stars No more DeWalt for me, thank you...   February 20, 2008
I've never really had a positive experience with DeWalt products to date. Everyone always touts them... but there are better choices out there in my opinion. I needed a plywood blade, and picked this one up... after all, it sounds great with a heavy body and hollow ground profile, which is exciting in the world of plywood blades. The first few times I used the blade it worked fine. The cut wasn't superior over stamped blades, but I was hoping that this blade might hold up a little better. The blade is warped... never been dropped, forced or abused in any way... with a fat midsection, this was the least likely thing I thought to happen. I now only use carbide blades. I'll use a 40t blade and get just as good of results, and the blade lasts much longer.

5 out of 5 stars Actually cuts really well   May 13, 2007
This is great for cutting plywood. Take your time if you need nice edges but it cuts really, really well.

1 out of 5 stars you get what you pay for   December 7, 2006
after reading other reviews, I went ahead and bought this blade to cut 3/4 inch birch plywood for some cabinets. Despite using a blade lubricant and coolant, setting the blade to the proper depth, and using an appropriate rate of cutting, the blade consitently fried the wood. It would bind in the cut, and more pressure would angle the saw and chew up the cutting guide I had made (*&%$#!!!). I finally went back to the blade that came with my Milwaukee circ saw, and when I used it with the guide ( a straightedge screwed to 1/2 inch plywood to support the edge of the 3/4 ply), I actually got better cuts. It worked OK for cutting 1/2 inch A/C ply. Iwould recommend this blade for cutting THIN plywood over short distances, but for ripping 3/4 inch plywood, it was utterly useless. I'd love to know what the reviewers who gave it good marks were cutting, and how they were doing it.

5 out of 5 stars Clean cuts in plywood and melamine with a Skil saw   August 6, 2006

2 out of 5 stars A blade for burning   January 23, 2004

My original review was positive for this blade, but with a little more experience I have to take it all back.

I have now used this blade on 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch birch plywood, as well as on 1/2 and 3/4 inch MDF. The verdict: this blade cuts great for a few seconds. Then the glues in the sheets burn. The sheet starts to smoke and the blade teeth get encrusted with burnt glue, causing the burning to get even worse. The thicker the sheet goods, the worse the problem. I was able to cut 3/8" plywood for a little while, but I only got through about 12 inches of 3/4" MDF before the smoke started. Believe it or not, I had better luck in MDF with a cheap framing blade! My stock was well supported and the depth of cut was fine.

The blade cleaned up ok with oven cleaner, but even with a freshly cleaned blade I was unable to get a good cut. Thin kerf blades like this are risky in thicker stock, I think.

This blade is really inexpensive and there's a reason. I've ordered a much pricier Freud blade and expect to have better luck.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: I received my Freud TKR303 and it is outstanding. I strongly recommend you spend the extra money to get that blade if you're cutting sheet goods.
