Wonderful! December 3, 2008 Absolutely no complaints, even without wireless coverage in this rural area! Wouldn't trade it for the world! A slight modification to the case so that it doesn't fall out (a velcro strip on back) and I have been completely happy.
OMGoodness! December 3, 2008 OMGOODNESS!!! Everyone should have a Kindle!! I read on the average at least 10 books all at the same time. I often find myself in the most peculiar reading situations and positions! The Kindle is wonderful for my reading habits. I carry my Kindle every where! The minute I see a book or CD's I might want, I quick go to my kindle and log into the "Kindle Store". I search for my item and "ZIP"! There they are in less then 30 seconds on my Kindle. Now, the music has to be down loaded to your computer and then load them onto your Kindle. The "Look-up" feature for definitions for words your not familiar with is fantastic!! I recommend that everyone buy and download the "Kindle Users Guide". I have not had the opportunity to use the scan documents feature or the email. Buttt...! Everyone needs a KINDLE!;) I LOVE this thing!!!
Incredible December 3, 2008 This is a tool that all ages can use or benefit from. It is wonderful to choose a book or magazine and have it delivered to me in seconds for less money than newstand cost. I had a question about my Kindle and the customer service was very good. The opportunity to read a "sample" of a book before buying is unique as is the free delivery of one issue of a periodical.
The Best Invention Ever! December 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Kindle is the best investment I've ever made. It's very user-friendly. I'm not a tech nerd by any means, so when it came in the mail I was able to walk myself through it's simple instructions very easily. Within minutes I had browsed the Kindle store and purchased my first book. I take it everywhere. It's so much more convenient than having to hold a book, whether it be in bed, or reading in a chair. I'm even able to lay it on a flat surface and read, and unlike a book, it won't fall closed. Another great feature is that it is completely separate from, and has nothing to do with the computer. I don't have to worry about stacks of books accumulating in my house anymore. The text is super clear and easy to read, and I'm able to change the font if I want to. I don't have one negative thing to say about the Kindle. How did I ever live without this product?
Kindle disappointment December 3, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased a Kindle in the hopes that it would allow me to be able to get back into comfortable reading. I have been the owner of a first-generation Rocket Book in the past, and that was the most wonderful reading experience for me. However, the company went out of business, my battery went dead, and that was the end of my Rocket Book. The rocket book did basically what the kindle does except that you had to use a computer as an interface. I see no improvement in the Kindle other than it being able to search and download in minutes. I miss the backlighting that the rocket book had. I noticed that people were buying book lights for their kindle's. I could see the text of a book when I enlarged the font sizes, however, I could not search for a book on the kindle because I couldn't enlarge the font sizes of the website. I also have a mobility impairment which makes it very hard for me to use the roller button as a pushbutton without rolling it. Accessibility D-. Penny Gray Adaptive Technology Specialist
