Product Description NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, offers thousands of limited edition and one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry, and home decor treasures handmade by master artists and artisans throughout the world. Artist Wayan Sarjana lovingly shapes this delicate, seductive anklet in sterling silver. The workmanship is impressive, alluring - each detail rendered with a passionate sense of the jeweler's art. .925 rating silver Artisan Info: Under the tutelage of his uncle, Wayan Sarjana has fine-tuned his silversmithing skills to become one of the most talented and innovative craftsmen in his village. Sarjana, an amateur historiographer, returns to his roots for inspiration. He elaborates on ancient Indonesian designs to create elegantly unique silver jewelry. "I was born in a village called Banjar Apuan Singapadu, Sukawati on the island of Bali in the year of 1970. I am the eldest of three children from a family of artists, but I was the first in my family to work with silver. "I started to learn at the age of fifteen as an apprentice in my village with a man called Nyoman Regig. He was a good but strict teacher. If Made one piece just a little bit wrong he would be so angry with me, but he also taught me how to work under stress and short time limits. A good foundation if you ask me! "After five years I started on my own to produce original pieces that I sold to local shops. And slowly I was able to save enough money to make my own workshop at home, where I work still until this day.

Nice anklet May 9, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Overall a good amount of silver in this piece! It is a bit big on me, about 10 inches; 9" would be better & I'd say my ankles are average circumference. The quality of workmanship was very nice except when it was on my ankle, the clasp was positioned so that the adjacent disc stuck out about 30 degrees. I had to twist it into the right position, which isn't easy because this is pretty thick silver (I'd suggest a jeweler do this!). That's the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5. They did a good job of keeping me posted on where it was in the delivery process & they included a nice catalog & information about the artist. Comes in a very nice padded gift box.
