Pretty good for the price... November 13, 2006

I've never ordered any furniture from amazon or online for that matter so I decided to take a chance on this tile top table set. Delivery took longer than expected however with the original delivery estimate being by 10/17. I called Cross Country Furniture's # (which was a little hard to find 1-866-533-5147) to check on the delivery when it wasn't delivered on the 17th and was told that it hadn't arrived in the store yet. (I wonder if they would've notified me of this delay had I not called them first)? A very polite representative told me that it would arrive within 2 days and then would be shipped and delivered to me within a couple days via UPS.
I called again about a week later to check on the table and was told that it had arrived and was in the store's shipping department to be shipped out the next day. They said also that they would email me a tracking number but that never happened so I was a little worried but I was happy to find that my talbe & chairs set arrived the very next day.
There were a few imperfections like a couple of staple holes that must have punctured a few of the chair legs/backs and a couple of hair-line scratches on a couple of tiles on the top of the table that I didn't notice until a week after I had it since they are so small. Overall it looks great and was pretty easy to put together with the allen wrench and instructions they provided.
The table was especially easy to assemble with just the legs to screw in place but the chairs took quite a bit longer. I paid around $280 total, with the cost of shipping and despite a few problems with shipping and minor imperfections, it's turned out to be a pretty nice buy. Considering that customer service was helpful in getting my table to me as soon as possible, I'd feel comfortable ordering from Cross Country Furniture again...I'd just like them to have more accurate delivery estimates and send a tracking number once an item ships in the future.
