Amazon.com This two-video set by Billy Blanks includes a 30-minute instructional workout that teaches moves and technique as well as an eight-minute workout in which you go all out. Blanks starts the 30-minute video with flexibility training--important for injury prevention as well as comfort. The key to making a high-intensity kickboxing workout effective and safe is doing it correctly, so Blanks carefully teaches the moves, paying careful attention to safety, form, and technique. Blanks explains clearly what to do, what not to do, and why. Even if you're an advanced kickboxing exerciser, spend some time with the instructional video. The eight-minute workout uses all those moves in an advanced blast of sweat and muscle action, great for days when you just have a few minutes and want to spend them intensely. Blanks is the master tae-bo instructor, and he really knows how to teach, motivate, and make you sweat. --Joan Price

Gets NO Better Than This! October 9, 2008 Simply put...........If you are on a serious mission to lose weight and you want to attack the excess weight with vigor, this is the DVD for you. Hard, Intense Cardio for 57min straight. Billy doesn't stop. Kicking, punching, flexing, jumping....all of it. You literally feel like you've burned a pound of fat off afterwards. If you are truly serious about losing weight, I'd suggest doing this DVD at least 4x a week with a sensible diet and I guarantee you will see results.
This is the elite of all BIlly's workouts hands down. This is for real exercisers who want to sweat and feel the pain. Amazing and well worth the price.
It's the little things that kill September 30, 2008 I'd like to start off by saying that I don't think this is a terrible workout package. It definitely has its pros. I'm very fond of how energetic Billy is when he's teaching. He knows it's a hard workout and he gives little pep talks while he's teaching that really help keep me going when I'm tired. I also like seeing the range of different people working out. It makes me feel better to see that I'm not the only one getting my butt kicked by the workout. I always work up a good sweat and get my heart pumping when I do the workout.
However, I've been doing this workout over and over again, and after a while, there are a bunch of little things that really start to add up to one big annoyance. Here are some of my issues with this workout:
--Billy doesn't count his sets very well. They are often uneven, so you do more on one side than on the other, or you skip one side completely. He also has a habit of saying something like "give me 3 sets" and then having people do a completely different number of sets.
--Billy's instructions aren't always clear. There is one very obvious instance where his instructions are so messed up that the entire class is sort of stumbling around off beat, and Billy turns around and is like "what's going on here?" as if it's their fault.
--You need to have *really* good balance to get the most out of this workout. There are quite a few moves that require you to balance on one leg for indefinite periods of time. There are a couple moves towards the end of the workout where you can see his entire class hopping around and struggling to not fall over, and even the handful of people that have been working with him for ages seem to have trouble keeping their balance. In my opinion, if the only person who can successfully do a move is the instructor and perhaps the star pupil, maybe you need to rethink some of the moves.
--He has a habit of picking on one of his students, Michelle (the woman pictured on the cover next to Billy), over and over again. I can understand an instructor trying to push his class to work harder, but he is constantly nagging this one woman, and it really annoys me. Actually, most of the time when he runs through the class trying to get people to work harder, he just ends up making them mess up, and I feel bad that they are caught forever on film stumbling around as Billy is yelling at them to "push themselves".
Again, I'd like to repeat that this isn't a bad workout. I enjoy it enough that I keep doing it. However, I was given this set as a gift on VHS, and I've contemplated buying the DVD instead. But because of all the little things I find annoying, I am going to just stick with the VHS until they are worn out and perhaps try some of the other Tae Bo workouts to see if they are any better.
Absolute favorite August 19, 2008 These videos are tough but i love them. Whenever i fall off the exercise wagon i do these videos and i feel amazing afterwards. I kknow i burn so many calories doing them and the next day i feel the work i have done and it is great. These videos are a must have, i think they are the best taebo dvds.
Good workout/horrible video! June 18, 2008 Like other taebo videos it is a really good workout, but the video is not great. He frequently forgets to repeat sequences on both sides, the people doing the workout make tons of mistakes and randomly take water breaks in the middle. You will definately get a good workout but i was upset how expensive it was because he clearly just taped one of his classes and did not do any editing.
