This is a good pillow September 5, 2010 James R. Geyer The pillows (two) arrived and smelled of latex as expected. After two days of airing we tried sleeping with the pillow. It still smelled a little, but was the most comfortable pillow ever experienced. The construction is as good as it gets. A month later we still love the pillows.
Not That Great September 5, 2010 johnny Like others have said, this pillow is bouncy and has a very funky smell. It hurts my neck when I lay down on it, both on my back and side (I don't have any back/neck problems). I'm guessing the reason is because you don't get a stable support/feel when you lay on it for a long time due to its bounciness. This results in a very uncomfortable experience. CAUTION: if you sleep on your side and prefer firm or super/extra firm pillows, I DO NOT recommend you buying this pillow.
Great but might have received the wrong product September 3, 2010 Shahed M. Ahmad (Bellerose, NY USA) I bought the firm version. The pillow I received looks like the one in the pictures, but the pillow cover that it came with looks different from the one in the pictures.
The pillow cover is from malouffinelinens, and has the letter Z written all over the cover. Can someone confirm if it's just me or it's a mistake? Even if I did receive the wrong cover, the cover is still comfortable, soft, and looks like it's made of quality.
Nice Pillow August 24, 2010 Prosumer (NY, USA) We ordered one 'plush' pillow, tried it a few days and we now ordered another because we were happy with it. For sleeping it is medium firm and is just right. But for squishing-and-reading type of use the higher density firm version may be theoretically better (can't say, don't have one). .
When it arrives it does have residue latex powder/smell from the manufacturing process. The cover needs to be washed right away and the pillow needs to be aired out for a few days (like sheets, take it out & beat it a bit). Although we didn't try it, taking a small hand vacuum and vacuuming the pores of the pillow may be worth a try. It clears up over a couple days anyway. But we like the pillow very much regardless and it is worth the initial break-in period to have the benefits of a latex pillow. This is our first latex pillow and it is living up to the hype. If it lasts many years like they're supposed to then it is well worth the price.
Side note: the claim is that it is 100% natural latex, but we wish this could be confirmed/guaranteed by Amazon or a regulatory body. We have no reason to think it isn't but we couldn't find much info on the mfg.
It reeks. August 23, 2010 Melinda Lloyd (Durham) I was hoping that this latex foam pillow would be a less expensive version of the one I got at Sleepy's (about 1/3 of the price). The pillow reeks. I've been airing it for a month now, flipping it over to expose each side to air - and it still reeks.
