Product Description
In Dhyanalinga: The Silent Revolution, master, mystic and yogi Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev introduces a spiritual tool for humanity so powerful that it defies the boundaries of the human mind. This extraordinary book guides readers to an understanding of yoga as energy states beyond the five senses, culminating in the presentation of Dhyanalinga, an embodiment of primordial, formless, divine energy. This unique meditation shrine is the first of its kind to grace the Earth in over 2,000 years and is the pinnacle of three lifetimes of intense spiritual work by one of the most profound mystics of modern times. Sadhguru's limitless love and energy permeate this book, which captures Dhyanalinga on print through vivid color photographs depicting its architectural magnificence.

In the metaphysical sense, Dhyanalinga is the manifestation of a Guru, an energy center of tremendous proportions and a space where the transformation from limited to resplendent unbounded can happen in an instant. This book helps spiritual seekers recognize the role of a Guru in raising one's inner energies to the peak of self-realization. Sadhguru explains, "A Guru works in his presence and out of his presence, not through words. That which you refer to as Guru is a certain energy, a certain space, not a person. The relationship is neither physical, psychological nor emotional, it is beyond body and mind. It is a sacred, enduring relationship essential for any person evolving himself to his ultimate nature."

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is a channel between man and the divine who offers humanity an opportunity and possibility to transcend the body and mind and experience the boundless divine bliss within. Dhyanalinga invites us to explore a new kind of spiritual practice that can transform us at our core. This richly illustrated book combines historical perspective with sacred wisdom and the master's provocative poetry as a roadmap to other dimensions of reality.

Until I went to India and sat with this "thing" I had only heard stories ... now I know. Read it, then go there, sit, and you will see.

5 out of 5 stars Coffee table book with appeal and depth - all time favorite   August 11, 2007

Great layout. Beautiful and appealing with illustrations by Film Art Director Sri Thotta Tharani. Perfect coffee table book. I have given it to many of my colleagues and friends that are not necessarily into yoga and meditation. I was always looking for something to give that is not too technical and not on one topic only. Introductions are given on a variety of topics such yoga, Patanjali, the seven chakras, Kundalini energy, and many other aspects. The book is a mix of information, poetry and narrations; light in its appearance yet with great depth particularly on the art of consecrating and energizing a form, here a linga. It is hard to find any book that talks on this complex and difficult process so openly and candidly. A true gem for anyone wanting know more on this subject. Still today it is one of my favorite gifts.
I simply love it!

1 out of 5 stars A Misleading, Hallucinatory Book That Lacks A Logical Foundation   June 1, 2007

"Sadhguru" Vasudev claims that he is an "enlightened master" without offering any logical proof of this claim. His book is mediocre at best and plays on the trusting nature of those who are seeking a quick solution to their life's endless problems. His book is an extension of the camp-like retreats that the "guru" offers. Vasudev believes that he is an extension of GOD and that he himself can offer the answers to the eternal questions of mankind. Vasudev's wacky claims include that through his powers, he can communicate with animals, enter "into" the mind and soul of his followers, cure all illness, and lead his followers towards eternal life and salvation. In my humble opinion, Sadhguru's works such as "Dyhanalinga" illustrate that the author is a charlton without any logical explanation for his supposedly "miraculous feats". There is nothing wrong with meditation and yoga, both activities can be beneficial to the body and mind. But when someone uses these ancient topics towards greedy and dubious means without any support whatsoever, one must be skeptical. The "holy" Dhyanalingam is nothing more than a concrete slab that Sadhguru and his minions hype up in their quest for more power and money by preying off the poor masses in India and abroad. "Spiritual masters" such as Vasudev are a dime a dozen in India (my home country), and the author's claim that his methods will allow the leader to achieve "enlightenment" and "bliss" are suspect at best. Vasudev initially claims that all his ideas in his book are rooted in logic, but once one gets deeper and deeper into his courses and literature, one realizes his followers consider any opinion contrary to their "master's" word as an act of sacrilege. Upon reflection, one may find similarities between the methodology of Dhyanalinga's Isha Yoga to those of better-known cults such as the David Koresh's Branch Davidians that crush the logic and free-will out of their followers. I advise the reader to be wary when reading this book and tread carefully when following the web of lies perpetrated by this author through his works.
