Reversing Diabetes June 2, 2010 T. Adams Very good book. Read it and followed what it said and my sugar readings went from 250-350 to 113-201. This book was at a good price and money well spent.

Very informative. My wife and I are glad that we had purchased this book. Excellent investment. Stongly recommeded it to everyone whose been diagnosed with diabetes (all types) or is on the borderline of being diabetic. Doctor prescribed medication is not the only way to survive diabetes. You'll be glad you invested in this very informative publication.

Reversing Diabetes by Dr. Julian Whitaker, MD
I found this book to be a very good source of information on Reversing Diabetes.
It is very detailed in the explanation of Diabetic causes and associated medical problems.
It has a great list of vitamins and mineral supplements that Diabetics need to take.
It has a great list of foods and meals that help the Diabetic condition.
This is an all inclusive plan to help you Reverse Diabetes, all you have to do is follow the clearly detailed plan from this book.
If you have Diabetic Nerve Pain you have got to try Penetran+Plus mentioned in this book.
Penetran+Plus is the only thing I have found that relieves the Pins and Needles Pain in my feet.
I highly recommend reading this book, and following the plan to Reverse Diabetes.
IT WORKS! April 5, 2010 W. J Yates (Oklahoma City, OK USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
And that's all I can say. I had been fighting pre-diabetes for several years but was able to keep it to around 6 on the A1c scale by virtue of exercise alone, i.e. I continued eating what I wanted.
I have a physical exam done every year by a very informed and competent GP doctor. This year it was 7 on the A1c scale (about 170 in resting blood sugar) or "in the range" the GP said. He prescribed Actos and even gave me some samples. OK fine, until I read the side effects of Actos, scared the be-Jesus out of me. "The drug from hell," one reviewer wrote and another called it "sanctioned poison."
So, that brings me to my search for a natural solution. I read and rejected the Atkins high protein diet for several good reasons, I rejected the LCA diet as too radical for me (unnecessary) and settled on Dr.Whitaker's solution. I've been nothing but pleased and consider his book the gospel truth.
Some things I learned:
* Diabetes has a very close relation to belly fat.
* A regular exercise is extremely important, for reasons the Dr. explains very well; and brisk walking is best for me. I walk a mile in about 20 minutes and that works fine.
* Consider Chromium GTF and Magnesium which will help you lose weight. And diabetes is often associated with chromium deficiency.
* Consider some of Dr. Whitaker's recommendations for natural aids, e.g. I have been taking Gymnema Sylvestre for two months now and highly recommend it.
* When you change your diet, consider it long term, consider it a lifestyle change. Pick out those foods on the Drs recommendation list that you like to eat and build a diet plan around them; work at it, your health is on the line. And yeah, when I begin to feel deprived I do cheat once in a while but not by much. About 3 pounds a week is all I try and lose, if I lose it faster I won't keep it off, I've learned through the years.
* Consider decaf coffee and sodas, there is a negative relation between caffeine and blood sugar spikes.
* I bought an Accu-Meter devise and take my blood sugar once per week as I try to solidify control.
Today, two months later, I have lost 23 pounds and my resting blood sugar at last week's reading was 107 as compared to 170 at my physical exam.
Good luck to all and remember the race is not always won by the swift but by those who keep on running.
