Ah, what can I say? July 12, 1998 Ah, what can I say? The Lion King is the best movie of all time, IMHO. ;) The music is outstanding, especially the mix of the African beat, which is thanks to Hans Zimmer and Lebo M. The movie, AND the soundtrack, will be enjoyed for many years to come.. by all ages. Ooohra TLK!
I LOVED JUST SINGING ALONG!!!!! June 21, 1998 I can't even count the number of times I've listened to this soundtrak. Why, one may ask. Well first of all the movie alone, had so much to say and when accompanied with the music---perfect. You have to understand that I am a grand mother and when my 3 and 5 year old grand daughters learn lessons from the movie and know the lyrics--too cute. When one can combine the visual with the audio and teach lessons, especially for children, I believe this is as it should be. So, thumbs up all the way. There was just one diddy that was missing. I don't know the name but it begins "If you're hungry for a peice of juicy meat......". Sure do with that would have been included.
Pretty good June 19, 1998 Some of this CD gets on your nerves, most of it is beautiful. I for one thought the instrumental tracks are majestic and wonderful to listen to - if you don't like them, skip them! But I thought some of the songs could use work. Hakuna Matata seemed too repetitive, and the end of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (the version from the movie, not from the credits) was way contrived - just a way to get Pumbaa and Timon in for a few seconds and make the kiddies laugh. But "Circle of Life" in particular is a standout (Carmen Twillie does it better than Elton John). She has a great voice and a great song to work with.
Great music. Every single track. June 12, 1998 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD combines different sorts of music to give a wonderful experience for all. For example, the first track, Circle of Life, gives an authentic African theme to Lion King. On the other hand, 'Hakuna Matata' is a fun rhythmed song that would make any kid (and adult) smile. 'Be prepared' is one of my favourites, with evil yet humorous lyrics. The only complaint I can make about this CD is the Intrumental tracks in between, whilst they were good listening, I find them repetitive at times and I end up skipping them. But overall, this CD is worth every dollar you spend, it is certainly worth a buy!
