Booooooooooo........ April 14, 2002 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a jacked up box set. *Jacked up* is not the phrase of choice, but it will be for the moment, considering that it's Disney and all (Rated G).......Don't get me wrong, All of these movies are great Disney movies, but the selection is terrible. I love "Mulan" to death, but It's not quite classic material yet. "Simba's Pride was a decent follow up to "The Lion King", and it stops right there; How dare you call this a classic box set without "The Lion King"....... Sure, it isn't in print yet, but "Snow White" is, and it fits the classic title better than "Hercules". All in all, you have classic movies that are mixed up with recent goodies that are bound to be classics (sooner or later) while missing definite classics like "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" and expect for the good Disney customer to pay [money]. Right.
"Classics"? I Think "Favorites" December 31, 2001 0 out of 14 found this review helpful
I recently bought this collection on DVD from Skinnyguy.com. Although no extras are on these disks, I would buy them if you own these on VHS and have a DVD player. I'm buying them because 1) VHS takes up room 2) I wanted them
Where's Aladdin and The Lion King?? November 6, 2001 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
This boxed-set features many classic disney films, such as: One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp and The Jungle Book! The rest of them arn't classics, atleast not yet. The Lion King II was very dissapointing, in my opinion! However, even though the the box-set is superb, it still lacks something, and that something is The Lion King and Aladdin! I consider those two to be the best of the bunch! Disney should have included them. I would have given this box-set 5 stars if it wasn't for the absense of The Lion King and Aladdin. Dont get this boxed-set! Disney WILL release another one...I know they will!
Awesome collection August 25, 2001 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I always am watching one of these Disney movies. When my sister wants to watch a movie she just picks up the box to find the movie; she doesn't look anywhere else. These are the Disney movies you never get tired of watching. I recommend getting this collection if you love Disney movies or have a child that does.
Revolting Overpriced Collection August 22, 2001 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Since you can easily buy these titles individually at a fraction of the price this collection makes no sense for any Disney enthusiast. Five more Disney DVDs could be purchased for the extra price being paid for the cardboard box. And Lion King II Simba's pride does not belong in any Disney set dubbed as "classic". Until Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are released Disney has no business releasing a classic DVD collector's set.
