 garmin nuvi 760 "THE BEST!" January 6, 2009
After days of pouring over many brands of GPS devices, I selected the Garmin nuvi 760 . It had all the features me and my wife needed. The wide touch screen, very easy to operate, quick satellite acquisition, easy to scroll across map, the demo mode (so you can preview trip times), the speaker is relatively loud and very clear, Bluetooth, shows and speaks the road names, quickly redirects you if you miss a turn, FM transmitter to listen to directions or your cell on the radio, and so far the ETA has been within 2-3 minutes on every trip. I also like the 5 hour battery life so you can carry it around. I have owned a Garmin since 1994 and I love their products. After reviewing prices all over the internet Amazon couldn't be beat. This is the best GPS for your money hands down.

I like the product. But 20% of the time the GPS has taken me to obsolete or old addresses when i use the POI feature. The FM transmitter is not powerful and i get a lot of noise listening to music on my car. The traffic updates are accurate and the GPS would force me to take exits without any reason.

Product is great. The map is not completely up to date, but it is very good. FM transmitter feature is helpful to increase volume from unit.
Portable, but not 100% satisfied (maybe 98%) January 6, 2009
I purchased this Garmin GPS unit to replce my old Garmin StreetPilot 2610. Nuvi 760 is much smaller and the display is bright. However, for some reason, Nuvi 760 is not as accurate as the old unit. For instance, when guiding me home, Nuvi 760 insists my house is 200 feet down the street. I don't the same problem with my old Garmin unit.
Even after getting the 2009 map data update, Nuvi 760 does not recognize a major shopping area called "The District" in Irvine, CA that was built in 2007. But I guess I can not blame it on the GPS unit for that. Nuvi 760 also mis-guided us a couple times when we visited Oahu during Christmas (once due to the old map data and the other due to mis-calculation)
Overall, it's smaller, lighter, the display is better than my old unit and it costs a lot less. So I guess I can't complain too much.

This is a very nice navigation system, lots of bells and whistles. Fast shipping from Amazon. Good product with good price. Definitely recommend.
