We LOVE this timer! October 29, 2008 We have two older children. I remember how absent minded I was after each of them were born. I couldn't remember anything for months! So, with number three (born 10/9/08) I wanted this timer. We LOVE it! With the first two children I couldn't remember which breast I had last fed on, when they ate, when they were last changed or when I took my medications. We had lists for everything. Not with our third child! I purchased the timer and took it to the hospital with me. We starting using it from day one, within hours of our daughter's birth.
I used the last optional timer (not assigned to anything specific, has a star on the button) for timing pain medication after my c-section. I used the sleep timer for my Ibuprofen timer. I didn't need to know how long my newborn had slept, but more importantly when she fed and when she was last changed (so we could count diapers to know she was getting enough to eat). I love the alarm! You can turn it on or off for each button, as needed. It has a clip to attach it to yourself or your diaper bag. When your hands are full, it's very helpful. Finally, there's the little flash light. It's not really bright but I've been able to use it to accomplish whatever task I'm trying to do in the dark. Someone put a lot of thought into this product. I don't think it's missing anything! Twenty days later, we're still using it. A little differently, but we're using it. Now that I'm feeling better physically and busy again with normal life activities, I'm still very absent minded and use it to stay on track and keeping our baby on a schedule. Itzbeen timer is a must for everyone having a new baby!
Crappy LCD October 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know how practical is this product, but I received mine today and the LCD is not working on the superior area (Diaper change alarm).
I cannot return it, as I live outside US and the shipping cost is to big to bother.
Good Idea - Several Design Flaws October 21, 2008 I was excited to receive my Itzbeen baby care timer at my baby shower. I had read the reviews and was convinced it would be very useful. Well, it is about as useful as 4 stopwatches. It does not carry any memory for previous entries so it does not replace a log like it says in the descripton. Also, my Itzbeen would lose all data once a day or so. I returned it to Amazon and am waiting for my refund for a defective product.
Great product! October 18, 2008 Very cool, very helpful for my 6 week old. I love that it's so simple - just push a button - on the other hand it would be nice if it had the option to look at the history of your button-pushes so you could recall how many naps/diaper changes the baby had throughout the day. But overall it's been great - I don't leave home without it.
Completely worthless October 16, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was given the timer by a friend in celebration of baby #5. I don't understand what anyone would need it for. When a baby cries, you feed it, if it smells change it and they will sleep when they're tired. I have never with any of my children had to write down what I did and when I did it, because frankly it didn't matter. Baby #4 was on a biliblanket for 2 weeks and had to be fed about every 2 hours, so that's what I did, not that hard to look at a clock and figure out about 2 hours. With multiples I could see how it could be more useful, but otherwise just not necessary. It's just one more way for companies to step in-between the mother/child relationship.
