Replaced an old alarm clock September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this alarm clock to replace one very similar that I had recieved as a wedding present almost 10 years ago. I love it!!! It is very easy to learn to use. It has lots of options for alarm selection. I love the feature that you can select which track on your CD you want to wake up to. The only downfall is that the numbers are really big which causes more light in the room at night that I would like but that's ok. The product is still great!!!! I would recommend this for any couple that needed two seperate alarm times!!
Happy with purchase September 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought two of these, one for each of my children. It is reliable, you have a choice of how you want the alarm to work - radio, buzzer, or CD, and even which song on the CD you want to wake you up. The numbers are large, which help when you have sleepy eyes. It's been very dependable so far.
Great item even if you have to pay for it. September 10, 2008 I puurchased two of these using pepsi points and could not be any happier. These were taken off the points offerings and I can see why. Pepsi had to ship thousands of these once the word got out the were the best items on the electronics list. If there has to be anything negative about this unit it would be that the internal antena is not real strong and therefor you are limited to certain number of stations. But the sound clarity and the dual alarm option is great. I would say it is worth the cash price and would buy one as a gift or for myself if I had to buy another clock radio.
Excellent All-Around Alarm Clock September 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
First, it has an superb dimmer with three settings. I searched a long time to find a clock that didn't light up half my bedroom at night, and the lowest setting on this one is perfect (you can barely see it during the day but it's exactly the right contrast for at night).
Add to that nice big numbers, dual alarms, wake to CD/buzzer/radio (by the way, it's SO much nice to wake to a CD than a loud buzz), and very intuitive controls. It's also pretty heavy and seems very well made, unlike other cheaper, lighter ones I've had in the past.
If you live somewhere that loses power a lot, then you don't want this alarm clock (no battery backup), but if you have electricity most of the time, then this Sony is an excellent pick.
You Get What You Pay For August 19, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We got this for my sons' room so they could wake up to a CD instead of an obnoxious alarm on school days. Frankly, it just isn't that great. It does work, most of the time. But then, once in a while, the CD won't play. It acts like there's no CD in the player, and it defaults to the buzzer alarm. Then, next time, it will probably work again.
In general, the look and feel is super cheap. It sort of gives the impression of having been hastily slapped together by a depressed laborer in a prison factory.
