Nice looking, but stopped working June 7, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought these for my fan that is up about 15 feet in my family room, and evidently, they don't work in fans. I have the normal spiral type bulbs in another fan, and they have been great. These stopped working after about three days. Now I need to rent another ladder and climb back up there and put in regular bulbs!
Fluorescent candle bulb March 8, 2008 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I bought the 9 watt bulbs (compact fluorescent) to replace our bathroom bulbs. The old bulbs were 60 watts each and these ones make the same amount of light for 27 watts and that's the good news. The bad news is that they are a little slow to light to full brightness and we are adjustng to that feature a little more every day. We have noticed that even with the 2700K light spectrum, the light produced is not quite as realistic as was the old wasteful incandescents. The length is longer than our old bulbs as well as the color difference. We found that by selecting new globes from Home Depot in their lighting section, you could both cover the extra length as well as change the color of the output somewhat. I think that we will get used to them and we are doing our part to save energy. If they only last as long as they claim then we are satisfied. We advise you to pick a wattage level one step lower than what you are replacing because these are bright brassy bulbs. ( 14w = old 60w/ 9w= old 40w) We found that the 14watt versions were just too bright even though the equivalent on paper.
