Good sound, cheap parts October 31, 2008 Sound Rating : 4 out of 5 stars. Quality Rating : 2 out of 5 stars.
I recieved this as a gift a couple years ago. This thing puts out some decent sound! And it gets pretty darn loud for the size! There are a few flaws with it. The buttons on top are very cheap. One of them broke after very little use. Now, if you want it to turn off, you have to sit there and jiggle the button and hope it shuts off. Unfortunately, now the ipod function doesn't work (but I've had it almost 3 years now). It won't even recognize that the ipod is there but when I plug my Ipod into my dock, it recognizes it right away so it's not my ipod that's broken. It won't even charge it now. The radio isn't very good on it but it's great if you only use the Ipod. I'm now shopping for a new set of speakers for my Ipod though. I would recommend this for the sound, but I would not recommend it for it's durability.
Very Very Good Clock Radio for iPhone 3G - only one small complaint October 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I do really like this clock radio a lot. I have had it for about 5 days now, and I've had no big problems. I'm using it with an iPhone 3G, and I do not have to put it in airplane mode (although every once in a while, when I dock it, depending on the app I'm in, it will ask me to put it in that mode. I just pull it off and reattach.)
I think the sound is great, and I really enjoy being able to listen to AOL Radio and Pandora through speakers (although not for the alarm function, which launches iTunes). I actually wanted this type of radio so I could use the Ambiance app to fall asleep. I was afraid that the clock would use whatever I was last listening to for the alarm, so I was happy to learn I could use Ambiance and the alarm would go back to my music.
VERY easy to program the alarms, which is fantastic. Giant numbers so you can see the time from all the way across the room. The dimmer actually dims it so that you don't feel like you're sleeping on the Vegas strip. Battery backup (a huge plus for me). All in all, a great little product.
My one small complaint (and I have to figure out if it's user error) is that the alarm volume is whatever the volume was the last time you used it. Well, when I'm trying to fall asleep (or I'm in bed reading) I do not put the volume very high. That means when I wake up, the music isn't all that loud. So far I haven't slept through it, but this morning it was a little TOO subtle. And because the volume is low, it's not waking my husband at all.
I'll have to give it a test in sleep mode.
Love it October 28, 2008 It's everything I thought it was going to be. The sound is great and the alarm function is a gem. Works great with my Ipod Touch 2nd Generation. The new 3-D sound setting is awesome. Would recommend to any Ipod owner. Amazon saved me $20 over all other physical stores.
Great alarm clock October 17, 2008 Radio turns on with gradually increasing volume, different levels of screen light appreciated, enjoy the two different alarm settings.
Reason for 4 stars: The only downer is using the remote to change from one preset station to another. No matter which preset you're at (there are up to 6 for AM, 6 for PM stations), the remote always starts at the first preset.
Audio Hum October 15, 2008 I went through two of these and both had a nasty audio hum. I finally gave up and bought another brand. Shame, great case and docking station but the hum made it unusable.
