 Kingston quality, no matter what size November 11, 2008
I saved up my Pepsi points for this, and have never been so happy with a "loyalty program reward". I got this to replace my old PNY 512MB drive. I don't have a tonne of chunky files to carry around, but my portable FireFox profile and Thunderbird archive were filling the whole thing up with no room for much else. I also had a few sectors go bad on the PNY, further limiting just how much storage was available to me.
Knowing that I now have the Kingston name and warranty leaves me feeling much more secure. I don't personally know anyone who has ever complained about bad sectors on a Kingston USB drive. Moving up to the 2GB drive, I have room for all of the portable applications I need with plenty of room to spare for files. Carrying something the size of a keychain beats the pants off of lugging my laptop bag everywhere. I've actually uninstalled the registered versions of Firefox and Thunderbird and now run only the portable versions natively on my desktops and laptop, which makes synch'ing everything via USB drive that much faster. As to file transfer rate, the Kingston drive also seems to complete transfers much faster than my previous drive.
It's not nearly as big as some of the other options on the market now, but 2GB is plenty enough storage space for me when I'm away from home. I'm sure it's plenty enough for other folks too. For the available storage -- it's great!

This is a good drive for the price. It takes forever to copy or save files to it. Unless you're in a hurry when it comes to transferring data, spend a little extra and get a faster thumb drive.

This product is really helpful for studies..You can carry your datas easily anywhere. I have a portable harddisk too but since I dont carry it all the time sometimes when I need it I am out. But since this 4gb is attached to my keychain its always available and the price is also reasonable.

Thank you for reading my review I hope this helps you with your buying decision. I am not an expert with any of the USB Drives. So far I am happy with this unit, but just in case, I bought a second one.
I just recieved my second 2GB drive the other day. I read the other reviews that talk about failures, so for $5-$10 I bought the second unit to back up the first. It's just a chip, break it open and see, nothing fancy.
With my second drive I plan on keeping a "back up" of my first drive in case of failure, BACKUP, WHAT A GREAT IDEA. I use mine for storing pictures, documents and videos that I want/need to save in order to unclutter my email inbox.
SPEED - I don't have a "GEEK" way of measuring the data transfer speed but the Kingston units seam to work faster than my other "standard" USB drives that I own. "Selling the old ones soon, :)"
PHYSICAL SIZE - The Kingston USB Drives are smaller than my other USB Drives and the Kingston Data traveler has 2 clips for lanyards if that is important to you. (I always break my lanyard clips, so I have stopped using them)
VALUE - Google them, click the SHOPPING button on the top of the google page and see for yourself. Maybe you'll have my price beat.
