| Customer Reviews:
Garmin October 29, 2008 We recently used it on a trip and it was great!
My only complaint is that it takes you on odd routes: when traveling through small towns, it took me off the highway (which went straight through town) and put me on residential street with stop signs - the other thing in that the two-hour trip from city A to city B (which I take about once a month)takes me on the most unusual route - when I have it set for Fastest or Shortest Route (I went on MapQuest to see what their directions are and they agree with me).
So basically, use this as a "guide", but still travel the old-fashioned way - use a map and your common sense.
The Garmin 660 October 29, 2008 The 660 works well. The 4.3" screen is great. Entering addresses is not very intuiative. The biggest drawback is the TMC Clear Channel traffic service (horrendous). If you are buying this unit for the traffic updates get the 680 (MSN traffic).
Excellent choice October 28, 2008 The Nuvi 660 worked excellent. It took it on our first long trip to Maine it did everything we asked it to do. The voice command was very easy to understand. If we missed a turn or decided to go a different way it recalculated in matter of seconds. We had to use the detour button once and it found an alternate route in 10 secs or less. I purchased an additional SD card (2gb) to put some music. You have to make sure it is in the correct format (mp3) or else it will not be seen. I had installed about 300 songs or so and it seemed to move very slowly when trying to play music. Going from the map to mp3 player there was a 5 sec delay. If you were just patient it works fine. Overall it is an excellent GPS system.
Perfect for me October 28, 2008 Garmin nüvi 660 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator I live in Brazil, and I was vacationing in the States. My objective was to rent a car and admire the foliage during Oct/08 in NH, MA, CT and NY. This device proved to be key to the success of my trip. It made me feel safe. No matter what I did I knew it would bring me back home. This is a great feeling when you are wondering in a foreign country. Besides it connected whit my cell phone via Bluetooth and even served as a MP3 player using the car radio. What more could I ask for?
How did I live without this? October 28, 2008 Great product. Just back from an RV trip to Southern Oregon where I used it extensively. Great bonus to be able to listen to books on the GPS while traveling! I've never had a GPS before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it delivers all the functionality promised, easy to read, easy to use. All good.
