| Customer Reviews:
Philips DVDR3575H/37 1080p Hard drive/DVD recorder August 12, 2008 So far the unit has been working well. Setup was easy. The instructions were fairly straight forward. It says right in the instructions that the hard drive can break for a number of reasons. Not a comforting thought. The unit is easy enough to use. It works with several different formats including DVD +R and RW. The DVD's have worked in My Gateway computer, and in my DVD player. Since the unit plays DVD's I am using the other player on another TV.
Great Product August 12, 2008
Received it in a timely manner and so far has been working fine! The hard drive is the only way to go!!!
I love this Recorder August 9, 2008 I chose this Recorder because overall it had good reviews. I am very happy with this purchase since it was easy to set up and is easy to use.
As an added bonus I find that even though the reviews indicated that it is not possible to watch one program and record another, I am able to do just that. I suppose it is because I do not have a cable box, the cable goes directly to my TV. I just program the show I want to record, then change my TV to the show I want to watch at the same time. It's great!!
The only downside would be having to wait until after a program is recorded to add the title but it's not really that big of a deal for me, I do it soon after so I don't get too many untitled programs.
Great Machine For The Average User August 6, 2008 This is a very good and reasonably priced machine. I have owned and used two for nearly a year with very minimal problems (most probably caused by my myself). It is easy to setup and use use for the tasks the average person would expect it to perform. It records easily, edits easily (quite accurately for normal use), and dubs to DVD easily; all that most of us would want such a machine to do. I record from TV, satellite receiver, and video cameras. All work easily and well. Picture quality is excellent to me but, I am no videophile, just an average user. I will most certainly look to the successors to this machine when I need to buy more in the future. It is the only such device I've found that does what I need it to do at a price I can afford. One suggestion is to power the device from a battery backup unit because the clock and recording timers go away with more than a very brief loss of power and have to be reset and recreated. Of course, all recorded material is retained on the hard drive.
Phillips DVDR3575H/37 1080p with Built-In-Tuner August 5, 2008 This Phillips DVDR is by far the best DVD product I have ever owned. Where I got 8 analog stations on an analog TV, I still get 8. But where I got 0 Digital Channel signals before I now get 37 on the same analog TV using the Phillips DVDR Digital Tuner. I have my Dish Satellite signals routed through the DVDR also on the E1 video channel and the recorder can see all channels and record any signal I wish. The digital video signal equals or surpasses the Satellite signal to the point you will just be amazed. I simply love this product. Have not tried HDMI conversion yet, but am excitedly looking forward to it.
