I know why the wires make the scratching sound. October 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this product today from amazon.com and I was disappointed first because I also experienced the scratching sound from the wires. I read what some of the reviewers have written about that and I thought I screwed up. There was no way I could return it because I had already opened the package.
I checked reviews on the other ear buds like Sony E75 and Bose on various websites, I found out that most in-ear earbuds makes that scratching sound. It works like the stethoscope the doctors use. I guess that happens because we push the ear bud too deep into the ear canal that it gets too close to the actual Ear-drums. And every sound is thus magnified.
So the solution to this problem is don't try to push the ear buds all the way into the ear canal. I don't think thats what the designers had in mind. When you use it try to keep it just slightly in. You try to find the actual depth by checking if the scratching sound is picking up or not. You will see the difference then. No scratching sounds, at the same time enjoy a great sound from the ear buds. And it gets better when you think of the price.
Static Noise October 11, 2008 All the visual aesthetics of these ear plugs are great. Even the feel of the plugs in my ears was good and even the sound - if I remained perfectly perfectly motionless - is just plain excellent. Hoever, I'm not a Hutt. I move. And any movement of the cord from the V-split up to each earplug results in unlistenable scratchy static noises. I'm returning this. Major disappointment.
Better than iPod earphones. September 27, 2008 I've had this for a little over 3 months now and it's still working great. It's also very comfortable.
Just poor September 21, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought these because they were getting really good reviews. I like the fabric cord but that's where it stops. The sound quality is just horrible. I have to turn the volume up twice as much to get the same sound level as my regular Zune headphones. There is almost no bass. Another thing is that I tried all of the different size tips and none of them felt like they fitted. It always felt like the buds were going to fall out of my ears. What a waste of money.
Nothing but good things, and a clarification September 18, 2008 This set of earphones was the first noise-cancelling set I've ever owned. I am completely satisfied with them, and appreciate their higher quality, especially in contrast to the stock Zune earphones. The little bag for the earphones is not bad, although I usually do not use it. It is just more convenient to wrap it around the Zune, more so now that I have purchased the Belkin case for it (with a mounted belt clip). There was a review earlier about the terrible sound disturbances when moving about, and when the wire rubbed against itself, and it very nearly kept me from buying them. However, in my own experience, the disturbances when the wires were not rubbing against themselves, there was really no disturbance. However, there was some slight static as the wires rubbed, which was not unbearable, unless of course you were to force it. With that clarification, I conclude that it was definitely worth my money, and makes listening to my Zune more enjoyable.
