Used to be Great, Now Very Disappointing January 25, 2007 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I used to read Smithsonian religiously. It was only because I had other things to do that I stopped. Things had gotten slower so I thought I would renew, but what a disappointment. I read about death and destruction in the newspaper or in Newsweek or Time. I don't want to see it with my arts and history. My first three issues had major stories on fighting terrorism in the Philippines, a killing in Africa (cover story), end of terrorism in the Basque country of Spain (cover story). Sorry, guys. End of subscription.
Love it! January 16, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Reading Smithsonian is a way to not only see the artifacts that have been found, but to read the in-depth articles that describe them. I appreciate all the knowledge I gain from this magazine.
Great, informative magazine. January 9, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This magazine has great articles and is written in such a way that anyone (even non science folks) can read and enjoy. You're sure to find something that interests you because each issue covers a variety of topics (technology, medicial, physical science, biology, and even sometimes culture/anthropology). I've received two issues so far and I'm pretty impressed. The only complaint I have is that I'd like to see more geology related articles.
It's a great magazine January 9, 2007 Very inexpensive price for a magazine of this quality. Always one or two interesting and in-depth articles with great photography. The described lag time between ordering and receiving was accurate.

I have received two magazines so far. I am not very impressed. The magazine seems to be mostly advertising. I am disappointed and have considered canceling and asking for a refund. I do not plan to renew this subscription.
