I really enjoyed the pilot episode. It's a new twist on the crime genre. Looking forward to seeing the next episode.

5 out of 5 stars One of the more clever shows on TV   November 5, 2007

This show is responsible for me to taking the plunge and forking over the extra money for Show Time. I barely watch enough TV to justify having basic cable.

Dexter however, is one of the most intelligent shows on TV. Which made me worried that they were going to cancel it. It seems that whenever a clever, quirky, thought provoking show manages to slip through the cracks it is eventually caught and sent to an early grave.

Let's hope for at least a few more seasons.

Excellent writing, clever dialog, indepth character develop, great story development, visually pleasing to watch. Michael Hall is brilliant in this role. I was surprised about the casting, but not after seeing the first episode. He was very good as David in Six Feet Under, however, Dexter really let's him show his full range of talent.

5 out of 5 stars The ultimate anti-hero   September 11, 2007

The good looking guy next door that is quiet and just trying to get along, but has a secret. The thing is you understand him when he admits that he just doesn't get the rituals that seem to be required of living in the world with so called normals. Then every once in a while you get that look of dark delight that says Dexter is going to get to play. The thing is, you really want him to, since when he does, another monster goes down. The last episode has a little fantasy, where everyone loves Dexter and celebrates what he has been doing. We really do wish in a way that there was a monster with values that would prey on the other monsters out there. The sad truth is that he would not be accepted any more than the monsters he preys on. He knows it too. What a great series. I wish that I had read the book first.

5 out of 5 stars Great Show!!! Watch it and you will be hooked!   August 24, 2007

My husband and I are hooked on Dexter. It is a great show with turns and twists. Michael C. Hall was great in Six Feet Under but phenomenal in this role. What is so great is how you can see the character's struggle to feel emotions yet, because of all his experiences, he can't. The really likealbe part of this show is how Harry, his father does everything he can to make sure Dexter takes his lust for killing and turns it into vigilante justice. Highly Recommend!!!

Dexter is an extremely good show. Michael Hall does a knock out job as an extremely twisted serial killer. The other characters in the show weren't quite as good, but Dexter himself is enough for hours upon hours of viewing fun.

The plot is well paced, especially once you get towards the middle (and on through the end), and the trip through Dexter's mind just leaves you shivering and wanting more. I worked through Dexter in about 3 days of solid watching, and I don't regret that time investment.
