5 out of 5 stars What a Wild Ride !   January 30, 2008

Moonlight is on the cutting edge of the vampire world. Yes, they have the boy meets girl, stakes to the heart, and other fare that come with the Nosferatu world, but honestly, I love how they have added additional characters, side plots and a roller coaster ride that keeps you wondering right through to the season finally. The characters are real, the villians have a depth to them that you don't normally find in a TV sci-fi world, and the acting is believable and touching.

5 out of 5 stars Best show on TV   January 29, 2008

The people who are bashing this show after watching one or two episodes need to tune back in. The characters on this show have grown immensely over the past few weeks, and the story line is taking off in a very interesting direction. Alex O'Loughlin as Mick is a tremendous actor and can do more with just a look than most actors can do with their whole bodies--and he's quite easy to look at to boot. Sophia Miles as Beth is a strong female character who's not afraid of anything except her feelings for Mick. Jason Dohring is hysterical with his one-liners yet showed a softer side in Sleeping Beauty. This is one show I stay home on Friday nights to watch and then download to watch over and over. Also keep an eye out for little jokes the writers play--like Beth having an email from BStoker@ vladish.com. The art direction is amazing, and I love Mick's voice-overs.

5 out of 5 stars Moonlight is a Sweet Pleasure   January 27, 2008

I have been a fan of vampire books and movies since I cut my teeth on Dark Shadows. But Moonlight is far and away the best of the "good vampire who wants to be human" genre. While it is true that it covers old ground (Forever Knight, Angel)it does so with a fresh take on the vampire mythos. The show focus is only on vampires (thank God there are no trolls, demons, and hell mouths) and it has a sense of humor that was missing on Forever Knight. Alex O'Loughlin is perfect as Mick St.John who, unlike past vampire heroes is "only" 85, a 20th century American (he was a medic in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge), who was turned into a vampire at the age of 30 in 1952 by his wife Coraline. being a modern American instead of a 800-year-old European gives Mick a sweet vulnerability that has great appeal. While Mick hates being a vampire he manages to keep his sense of humor even as he still carries a lot of guilt for things he did when he first became one of the undead. Mick falls for Beth, an Internet reporter he saved from his ex-wife Coraline in 1985 when Beth was four. While he is trying to sort out his feelings for Beth, his ex-wife reppears with the hope of making him human again. Moonlight is a welcome change of pace from the CSIs with their endless blood and gore shots of the murdered dead. While I like watching NCIS, the CSIs and Num3ers they can be long on technology and short on romance. Moonlight is a lush modern romance with a supernatural twist, a guilty pleasure that makes Friday nights my favorite night of the week. Let us pray that the writer's strike ends soon.

5 out of 5 stars Best series, writers, actors and music on TV   January 24, 2008

The story lines in this show are wonderful, keeps me on the edge of my seat. Alex O'Loughlin is a very talented actor, what he can do with his face and eyes, most actors can't do with words. The writers have given him lots of voice overs so he can use his great voice and use his body language to tell the story. Not your usual Vampire show, so different, it is best show on TV. Jason Dohring is Josef and has good comic timing and lots of good one liners. These actors make me BELIEVE in vamps.

5 out of 5 stars SOOOOOOOOOOO Happy!   January 20, 2008

I am so happy that Amazon.com has started this Amazon Unbox. I had signed up with Walmart downloads and I had so much trouble with it. And finally it shut down. I have not had any problems with Unbox. It is great to have your shows on hand to watch anytime you want to. And there is a great selection to choose from. Moonlight is a new show on TV that I really enjoy watching, and with Unbox I can watch it anytime. I plan to use this service often. Thanks.
