Madonna's 4 Minutes is amazing!! April 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
She's done it again; and could she look any hotter? (Oh, that's the video sorry!) This awesome song will go to No. 1 (if it hasn't already). A great new sound for the all-time ruler of pop; Madonna is one brilliant lady; again her choice in collaboration seemed odd and insane at first, then the rest of us catch up and realize she knows just what works. JT and Timbaland are great influences, but without doubt these 4 minutes are on Madonna's watch.
She did it again ... what's new? April 21, 2008 This is why Madonna has managed to remain a pop queen for three consecutive decades. Many times some reviewers said she was exhaling her last breath and every single time she has proven them wrong by responding to every doomsday prophecy with a massive hit.
After her less than moderate worldwide success but definitive American flop album "American Life", she planed her comeback in two stages.
Stage one, to reclaim her hardcore fans. For this, she came out with undeniable first class Madonna material by releasing the smash hit multimillion selling album "Confessions On the Dance Floor".
Stage two, to reclaim her American audience. To achieve this, she needed an all American sound, which will be the core of her upcoming work "Hard Candy".
She was hugely successful with her first stage and she's on the right path to be hugely successful on her second stage also. This particular first single tune is catchy, danceable and includes two gentlemen no American song reviewer or radio station will either dare to trash or to ignore ... Timbaland and Timberlake. This move is the thesis she needed to have her doctorate degree on Smart Moving.
This commercial geniality is what has been keeping Madonna on top of the charts for 25 straight years, something only less than a handful of performers were able to accomplish.
You can hate her for everything plus anything, but the fact is you are hating her at the dawn of the second decade of the new millennium and she has been around since the beginning of the 1980's. What about A-Ha, Pat Benatar, Boy Jorge, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, UB40 or Belinda Carlisle? Do you also hate them? I guess by now you even forgot they have ever existed! Never in your life have you forgotten who Madonna was, because she has always been out there selling albums like hot cakes and selling out every overpriced world tour she ever made.
This gal will quit only when she decides by herself that it's time to go, otherwise you'll certainly have Madonna in your life until she dies from old age. Like it or not!
Madonna is tha Queen - 10 STARS April 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Madonna is the Queen - I'm a fan for life. All Madonna fans should check out Smoke Sessions, Vol. 1 by Devin the Dude, Da Real Thang is a fly track written especially for Madonna
Something Went Wrong! April 17, 2008 I first became a Madonna fan back in 1983 when her first single "Everybody" was released. From that time, I was taken of how much talent she had. I watched her rise to stardom with huge hits like Holiday,Like A Virgin,Papa Don't Preach,Like A Prayer,Take A Bow,and so many more. Now that I have heard her most recent single "4 minutes", In my opinion it is her worst i've heard. Her last decent single was 1999's "Beautiful Stranger". I am not sure what is going on in the studio with her. Hopefully, she can get back to her roots and start making great music again. Then to top it off, she worked with Justin Timberlake on this piece. That should tell you something right there. Better luck next time Madonna.
We only got 4 minutes! And that's all we need. April 16, 2008 This song is hot. The first time since maybe "Holiday" that Madonna has had a song that really moves me. And its been a long time since Madonna has had a song that could potentially be an urban radio hit as well as a mainstream hit. But there's more. If you're not feeling the lyrics, you haven't really listened yet. The words of the song are filled with dual meanings that reference the end of the world on the Mayan calendar, Kabbalah, and the Law of Attraction. So no matter who you are, this song has something for you!
