Money saver September 22, 2008 Great product. I have used this reader twice on my wife's Volvo to identify two minor items, both of which made the check engine light come on. Friend also used it on his son's Mazda to corectly fix a false problem. This tool is so simple to use, and has more then tripled payed for itself. Highly recomended.
The CP9125 is great!!!! September 15, 2008 I used this on my 2004 Passat, and immediately was able to clear a code that was the result of a gas cap minor leak. The warranty garage needed a laptop and all for a more detailed test, but for my needs, this is great! To be sure, I take trouble codes seriously, but this gives me control in interpreting and responding.
Actron Automotive Code Reader August 29, 2008 The code reader I got was new and unused, but it was from very old stock.....it did not have any late model cars listed in the accompanying literature....but it worked fine. I am well-satisfied overall. It will definitely read the error codes and it is an excellent diagnosis tool. I would recommend it to anyone. I had looked at a more powerful code reader, but you had to have a laptop computer there at the car in order to use it......this one is simple, and it "stands alone"......and, best of all, it is dirt cheap :-)
Worked Great August 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received the infamous "check engine" light on my 2001 Ford Mustang. I was having visions of a $500 diagnose/repair bill, so I thought I'd try and give it a shot at fixing it myself. I purchased the Actron CP9125 and was able to diagnose the general problem within 1 minute of plugging the unit into my car. It was so simple. Actually, it was harder finding the plug in port on my car than it was to get the diagnostic code. However, that's just the starting point. Once you get the error code, you need to start doing some homework to figure out what the most likely cause of the problem is. I had a Chilton's Manual which told me the definition of the code (which you can also get on the internet.) That led me to investigate the faulty system which I was able to do thru a couple internet auto fix-it sites. This in turn led me to zero in on the actual faulty part. Total price to fix my car was $70 for the Actron and $40 for the faulty part (which took about an hour to replace.) I'm very glad I did it myself. Had I gone to a mechanic to fix it, the diagnosis alone would have cost more than the $110 I spent on the entire job.
Does the job! August 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Worked very well on a 04 Jeep liberty and a 97 Honda Civic, eliminating the fault codes. Paid for itself twice over.
