I had a check engine light problem with my GMC P/U truck since I purchased it in Feb.06, the Dealer had me buying a gas cap,a GMC dealer told me they could not get a reading because of a ECU fuse,
they said they replaced the fuse and sent me on my merry way.I then decided to buy my own code reader,after a week of diagnosing the
problem code I found it was a driver side post o2 sensor,I then took it to a friend at a muffler shop and had it installed.I've had no more problems. This code reader also clears the trouble code. It
has paid for itself over 5 times.

Pays for itself after just one use, as most dealerships will charge at least $50 to "diagnose" a problem. Figured out what the cause of the check engine light was and fixed it, and now I'm all set. The version I received was also an updated version with new firmware that checks the Inspection/Maintenance monitors. Definitely worth buying.

I purchased a used Saturn for my twin daughters to drive and low and behold, one week after I bought it the "check engine" light came on. I searched the web and found this product, after plugging it in and reading the code I was able to fix the minor problem without taking it to the dealer who would have no doubt charged me way to much. So I am Very Happy with the product!!

This is a great basic model. If you want detailed information, go for a more "able" model.
