keep it simple April 2, 2008 This is one of the lowest cost reader out there and it's well worth every penny. Some real mechanics may want to use the higher end models with the real time displays. With the limited amount of automotive work that I can realistically handle on my own, it's more tool than I need.
Works well. March 30, 2008 After about a year of ownership, this thing has held up well. I can verify that it works in sub-zero temperature, because I've had to recycle the check-engine light due to a faulty O2 sensor more than a couple of times this winter (in Maine). The included booklet had my error codes (anyone that uses OBD2 should work the same). It is cheap and durable and I still use it. Can't give a product much better a recommendation then that.

worked great right out of the box, saved me more $$ than the price of the code reader, to to find out what was wrong with my subaru...
Simple but effective for occasional use March 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This scanner is very basic (which also means low cost and simple to use) and is likely to be all you need. It tells you the codes and allows you to reset the engine malfunction light. Yes, you have to look up the number code it gives you in a book to understand the problem, but I see that as no big deal for something I use once every 6 months. If I used a scanner daily, I probably would want to pay the extra one with the text for all the codes built in.

This product is great and saved me both money and hassle. I used it to deal with an engine code problem prior to a smog test. It worked as promised. I imagine it would be useful for anyone with a vehicle that is prone to generating codes.
