My wife uses an old Palm Pilot, which needs a 9-pin serial port. Her new computer has none. This adaptor was less expensive than any other, and worked fine; seems very sturdy. Be aware that you may need to change COM port settings, but expect that with any serial device adaptor. I noted that her universal card reader changed the COM setting when I inserted an SD card. I can't blame that on this device; maybe on Vista, though.

This was recomended when buying the plusdeck2 so I added it to the order. Have found no need for it.
Works with Palm Vx February 25, 2008
The adapter works well with my Palm Vx under XP Pro 32-bit w/ SP2. The only thing extra I had to do was Setup the HotSync Manager to use the correct, newly assigned Port.
The adapter allows you to sync as if you had a serial port; it does not give you USB transfer rates, as far as I was able to configure.

This product works as advertised. It is very easy to set up. If you are missing Serial Port on your notebook, here is alternative for you.
You just install driver (CD Comes with this Product), connect cable and you are good to go. (You may have to configure COM Port from Device Manager - Need Computer knowledge).
Overall, awesome product and highly recommanded.
