great basic drum March 16, 2008
I purchased this drum for my Kindermusik classes, and it is a hit. It has a nice full sound that fills the room, and we generally just use our hands. The children are fascinated by all the animals on the sides. Just a great first instrument.

I bought this for my 10 month old. She loves it! It sounds so much better than the toy drums that are out there. I don't mind the banging as a result (it's definitely better than pots and pans)! I don't think it's super loud though but maybe I can tolerate loud noises. Great quality. The mallets are not appropriate for babies b/c there is a twisty wire holding the cover in place which could be taken apart and swallowed, so I did not let my baby use the mallets for now. But she is able to play the drum just fine with her hands.

This drum is sturdy and well built. Two mallets. Drum can take a beating. Great for hand eye coordination for children. For me it is perfect to help release stress. A great way to vent. A place to go to vent.
It will work wonders . Learn how to interpret sound. How to throw sound.
This drum is made for children but adults who want something to strike can use this. It looks and feels to be able to withstand a beating.
Kids will love it. People do gather around when you hit it.
It is very natural for people to gather around the drum.
For parties this drum will always be welcome.

This floor tom tom is big and sturdy, and the drumstick is soft enough that my little friends couldn' really hurt each other when they started beating each other instead of the drum. It's really loud though, so this is a good present for grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents and other friends to buy for little ones. In other words, give it as a gift, then go HOME TO YOUR HOUSE so the parents get to enjoy the noise and you don't! Hahahaha! Seriously, this is really fun and was a big hit with the kids.
fabulous drum October 18, 2007
This is a fabulous drum! My preschool daughter had happily used the same type of drum in her preschool music class; I was so happy that I was able to get one for her last Christmas. It is well made, cute and colorful, and has a great sound. Fun to play!
