Love, Love, Love it! October 8, 2008 You can hold this recorder in your hand, mount is on a mic stand (adapter included), or set it on a table (stand included). The sound is quality and tracks are easy to upload to your computer as stereo 2 track. If you record in surround sound you get (f) front and (r) sound which must stay together. When I upload them in Vista it doesn't want to treat them as a single pair. It wants to seperate them. But then again I have the 2006 version of Vista and we all know what a nightmare it's been. Push record button and start talking, singing, playing an instrument or whatever. Look at the screen and see your levels. Push the record button one more time and start recording. It's that easy, really! ALSO, if you could add a little reverb to the voice you could make a good little music master - really! Buy this, you won't be disapointed.
great for cheap! October 7, 2008 I am a classical musician and I was really impressed with the sound quality of the Zoom. You can set the levels so you don't get feed back or that annoying buzzy sound that always happens when I have tried to record my Horn playing on cheaper recorders. It's also easy to transfer onto i-tunes! I'm still exploring all the options but so far I am very happy! Beware though: If you are planning on recording right away also get a big sound card, the company provides one but it doesn't have much memory on there.
Great choice for recording rehearsals and gigs October 7, 2008 Easy to use, very good quality - all in all, exactly what I needed to record band rehearsals and even gigs when a multi-track recorder is unavailable or unwieldy. Great price, too. I don't use the metronome or built-in tuner, but those are just extras on top of the great MP3/WAV recorder.
perfect when using line in input October 6, 2008 perfect when using line in input.
but when using the input mics it's good and very sensetive but not clear as it should be.
try to use amplifire or mixer with good mic like (shure beta 58a) and guarranteed it will be perfect.
College student/teacher gives it 5 STARS! October 5, 2008 The Zoom H2 is an excellent product for someone wanting a high quality recording with a low budget. It is easy to use and only took me a little time to read the manual and play with the settings to figure it out. The sound is great. It is very portable and ready to record in no time. Just be aware the batteries die quickly so use the power adaptor. I use the Zoom to record my own personal practice and lessons as well as recording ensembles I play in. In both cases it increaces my progress. This is an excellent buy for the money!!
