I don't know how the bug lights work, I can't receive mine. I ordered mine back in June and just keep getting put off by Amazon, They shouldn't sell items if they can't get them in a reasonable amount of time, six months is a little much. DISSAPPOINTED!!!!!

The Flowtron worked well for me. I set it up on a dawn to dusk timer and it killed bugs so well, some preying mantis setup an eatery right below it. The only problem was that the bug zapper only last about a year before it stopped working. I replaced the bulb and cleaned it but it just stopped working. Cleaning it is a little messy but easy.

We don't have a mosquito problem but my wife and I usually spend our time at our computers which are located close to our deck. At night, flying bugs would wiggle into the house and send my wife screaming and wailing. So I bought this bug zapper and the problem is solved. A good product if you need something to keep flying bugs out of the house during warm summer nights.Before buying this product, think of a way to hang it some place. I put mine on a deck table but its a little wobbly and may fall over if there's a strong gust of wind. I can't identify most of the bugs killed by the zapper, some are small green thinggy with wings and some of rather big long flying bug. It did killed a lady bug however, not sure if that's a good thing or not.

You should see the pile of mosquitoes on the ground, I mounted mine near our bbq, turn it on as low as possible, I was amazed, i'm sure it killed 200 or 300 the first night alone, well see if it makes a difference in the long term, mosquitoes are a huge problem here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, even if it kills a 1000 week, it will make summer more enjoyable! JF

On behalf of bug zappers, I am well aware that bug zappers do not attract mosquitoes. The zappers do eliminate other pest though. Look at moths and how they damage crops or gardens! There's a few points for the bug zappers. I might add that the flowtron bk-40 puts on a good show though. I have had one for three years now and it has been trouble free and clog free. I have a flowtron BK 80 coming for immediate use in the back yard patio area. I am a believer in a good product when I see it, and flowtron BK 40 is a good product, and controls other pests dispite the claims out against bug zappers in general.
