Very nice grill July 11, 2008 I love this grill. It cooks great and the food comes out delicious. The ash catcher is a real nice feature. The only dislike I have is the legs are very wobbly, they should have bolted them on. You have to be carefull when you move it around or the legs can fall out. I have a big Jenn Air gas grill but the food comes out much better on the Weber. This grill could use a thermometer on the lid but other then the legs and thermometer it is fantastic.
Gold vs. silver - I chose Gold and am very happy I did. July 11, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I agonized over whether or not to spend the extra money for the Weber Gold On-Touch Grill over the Silver version. But in the end, I ordered the Gold, and am very happy I did. Our summers are dry, and we have lots of vegetation around. With the ash-catcher on the Gold model, I feel comfortable using it, even when the wind is blowing pretty strong. (Which it does a lot around here!) I don't think I would have felt comfortable using the Silver in some of the wind / heat conditions we have around here. I also love the hinged grill. I barbecued some pork for several hours to make pulled pork (my first try, and it turned out GREAT!) and it was easy to add extra charcoal from time to time without losing a lot of heat. I'm sold on the Gold--would definitely cough up the extra bucks again.
Hot stuff July 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband will only use a Weber One-Touch Gold charcoal grill, which I can no longer purchase locally. Amazon had it at my door in time to grill the next weekend. SMOKIN'!
Not like it used to be. July 1, 2008 I just purchased this grill as a gift since our 10+ yr. old Weber was and is really great. I like my old Weber grill much better. The handles on this grill get really hot and you will need a pot holder to lift the lid. The absence of the lid lock means there is no place to put the lid but on the ground. My old grill allows me to just slide the lid back. This grill also is lacking a thermometer on the lid. Some things are better left alone and this is one good example. Plus it arrived damaged.
Gold weber grill June 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this grill for my husband. This is the second, 22 1/2 inch, Gold grill for him. It works well and predictable for a Weber product. Their customer service people are helpful when you need an answer to any question. I love it, because he smokes Salmon and whole chicken to perfection. His salmon is always a request by the grandkids, all 13 of them.
