I am pleased with the Suncast recycling bins. They stack nicely. The lids do squeak but mine are in the garage so it doesn't matter. Sometime the flip lids do not stay open long enough. The colors are bright and cheerful. I had wanted a 20 gallon bin but the 18 gallon ones are working out just fine.

These were just what I had in my head: something for sorting recyclables that stacks, has lids that close or stay open, and are easy to carry when full. Shipping was superfast, too. The only reason I didn't give these the 5th star was because one week after I received them, I found the very same product by the same manufacturer at the hardware store at 25% less the price. The only difference was that the hardware store version didn't come in these lively and bright colors.

I was searching for recycling bins for over an hour until I came upon these. The price was amazing and they were bigger than most of the ones I found. They stack nicely and I love how the lid will stay open. It does make a loud cracking sound when it opens, but it's nothing I can't live with. Also, I was not fond of the picture of the lime green bin. As it turns out, it's just a plain green, not like the picture shown. Definitely an item I'd recommend to a friend.
Great Recycling Solution September 4, 2008
I have been looking for something to put into my garage that might organize my recycling, and I found these containers. After reading the reviews I decided to take the plunge. I have to say that these are perfect for what I wanted. I ordered 2 sets of them right off the bat. One set of them came in unharmed and all I had to do was assemble them ( a VERY easy task) and put them to use. The other package had been damaged in shipping which put a hole in the bottom of one of the containers. I could have lived with it, but I just couldn't do that after spending my hard earned money on this. Amazon was excellent to work with. I mailed my broken box back, along with the rest of that set (required for whatever reason), and there was another one on the way the same day. Received both shipments within 2 days of placing the order.
I personally like the tri-color look, my kids can visually identify which is which. I don't really expect the lids to continue to stay up on their own forever, but I just don't think it's that important to me. (Yes, all the lids stay up right now!)
