B & D Cordless Mower May 17, 2007 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
This mower was easy to assemble. Just flip the handle and tighten the screws. It has more than enough stored energy for my lawn and cuts very well. No more gas. No more cords. Height adjustment is a snap. Only drawback is having to push vs. self propelled.
GREAT mower! May 13, 2007 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
Did the math to make sure it could handle my yard, and it's no problem!! So super easy to start, and no fumes. Plenty strong too. We are very happy with this purchase.
24 volt mower May 12, 2007 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Fast exelent service; mower has more than adequet power; long charge cycle; is a little heavier than expected but still a very good choice
great machine but heavy May 12, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have a sloping yard. Consumer reports rates this the best, not the neutron, so I bought it. Consumer reports said it was best for smaller level yards, and i see why. With the batteries it gets a little heavy going uphill - but i was warned. I'd buy it again though. Nice and quiet. Non-polluting.
It is what it is May 12, 2007 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've had this lawnmower CMM1200 for about a month and a half now and it's quite the lawn mower. You will have no problem "plugging and playing" because everything about this lawn mower is easy. I'm sure you know what it can do and you can read the product descriptions about the details. I'll focus this on what it doesn't do or doesn't do well.
1. Hard to push. This isn't the easist baby to push across a lawn. Setting the wheels higher or lower affects this of course. And also the length of grass. Although it maneuvers very well even in South Florida grass.
2. Mulching. I wouldn't mulch a bunch of sticks with this (yes i tried) although it did cut or chipped most of them, i wouldn't dare say this is a stick mulcher. You will of course mulch leaves and grass and i'm sure that is the only thing it was designed to do.
3. Battery life. I have about 8800 sq ft of yard and I can get through the back and a few lines of the front before it seems to start dying. I'm not sure if the battery i have is a bit defective because it seems that others have gotten more out their battery life then I have. I will probably see if i can find another battery (and charger) online so i won't have to spend an entire afternoon cutting. Be wary if you are over 6000 sq ft of yard.
4. Start handle. The start handle feels very flimsy. You are suppose to pull it out and hold it. But while you're holding it and maneuvering the mower the lever seems to go all different ways. Perhaps this is the part of the design. While it feels flimsy it could very well just be designed to be flexibile.
Outside of these reasons, this is a great lawn mower. Body is strong, it's very quiet, green of course, does the job well. Price tag is hefty but you should be able to take a credit on this on next years taxes.
