Sonicare old and new December 19, 2007 I have used a Sonicare toothbrush for about six years and I loved it. I can even do without floshing with the Sonicare. But I was using the old one, i.e. the 4100. Recently my beloved 4100 is breaking down. I can switch it on, sometimes pressing several times to do so; but I can't switch it off. I have to wait until the two minutes is up. So I bought a new one. First the battery operated one, then the new 7100. I found them both unbearable. They are very noisy and very rough. I don't know it's just me or what. It just doesn't make sense. The old one is so gentle and quiet, but the "advanced" new one is so rough. Am I missing something? I would like to have the company to explain why they "improve" a good product in such a way.
Great Powered Toothbrush August 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my 3rd Sonicare toothbrush. I must say with each generation they get better.
Great cleaning capabilities. I like the pulse to indicate how long you've gone, this helps make sure I clean my teeth evenly.
I didn't give it the final star as I'm still skeptical of the battery. I've been told the battery should last 3-5yrs on these. I've never had one last past 3yrs and I'm a once a day brusher. I would hope it would last at least 5yrs.
Still it's well worth the money to replace it every 3yrs or so.
Fantastic!!! July 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had such a nice experience with Sonicare that I felt compelled to write my 1st ever review on Amazon.
They have great customer support- they sent me a new brush after my 1st one failed within the warranty time period. No runaround at all either.
Also this brush cleans better than my other electric toothbrush. I can't recommend this brush enough.
Fabuluous toothbrush; What were they thinking about travelling with it? July 9, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have a Sonicare Elite 7500 Power Toothbrush I purchased on Amazon in 2006. I love it. It (and the previous ones I've owned) have saved my gums. Buy one (now the 9500), but note the problem below:
I travel frequently. That the toothbrush will work for two weeks (they say, I got nearly that) without charging covers a lot of trips. However, the charger only works on 120 volts. Most other devices you carry with you these days also work on 220: your cell phone charger, your laptop charger, your battery charger, medical devices, etc.
The charger base of my Elite 7500 failed with I plugged it into 220 volts by mistake (on a ship; wrong socket). My fault, as I knew better. On the other hand, this is just poor design given that people travel more and more these days, and Phillips is an international company, right? The base is completely sealed, and could not be repaired. Nor did it protect itself, as it might have, so that it would work when next plugged into the proper voltage.
Phillips willingly and quickly sold me a replacement base for fully half the price of a new toothbrush. I challenge them to think more about how people use their products and design accordingly.
Great Product..Dentist Recommended. June 5, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an excellent product. After extensive dental work, my dentist suggested I purchase this item and use it. Following his suggestion, I did so; and the results are remarkable. Each use improves the quality of one's oral health, as well as providing the user with a fresh feeling after its use. BUY IT!..YOU'LL LIKE IT!!
