This was recommended by my dentist to combat gingivitis when the economy dictated my cutting back on visits to the hygienist..
It's superlative ; several different wands, generous reservoir, handy shutdown button on the handle, and its compact and attractive..
Note..do not settle for those small devices..one needs plenty of water to do an adequate job...

I purchased this item for a great price after reading multiple reviews.
I have braces and this waterpik is exactly what I need since I skip floss sometimes. Its not a replacement for floss but a great stand in. I would recommend this product for anyone but especially those with braces.
Stop using toothpicks and use this! October 11, 2008
I used to use toothpicks after meals to dislodge food stuck between my teeth. But now this not only works for that purpose but also strengthens my gums.
I can actually feel a difference after a couple of months of usage as my gums don't bleed while flossing.
My only gripe is that the water tank is really small. I would have preferred if it was at least double the capacity.

I am an adult wearing braces. Now, think about trying to floss your teeth while wearing braces -- not an easy thing to do. My oral hygenist suggested that I try a Waterpik instead of trying to thread floss between my braces. She also suggested the cordless Waterpik for travel and taking to work. I bought them both at the same time, and my life is so much easier now. What a time saver this is! I highly recommend this and the cordless Waterpik. My teeth have never felt so clean. Why didn't someone tell me about this years ago? Don't wait to get braces to try it!

The Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet is a tremendous product. It fits in small places, yet handles several people with several different needs. The various attachments make it so simple to go to specialty cleaning or another person in seconds. The variable speed was a gum saver as I gradually work up to increased pressures. I have NEVER been a consistant flosser, but this is both enjoyable and works better than floss ever could.
