ULTIMATE DOG BRUSH March 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Furminator out of sheer desperation. I had tried everything else on the market and nothing worked. I have a German Sheppard who leaves hair everywhere. I brush her weekly and end up covered in her hair, I just plan on a shower after I'm done! The first time I used this brush I could not believe the results,it got the top hair and the undercoat with ease. It took off so much hair and undercoat and did it so quickly. My brushing time was cut by about 15 minutes the first time I used the Furminator and by 30 minutes by the third time I used it. I even brushed her indoors when it was just too cold to do it outside and I was able to keep the mess at a minimum. I waited to write a review until I had used it several times. I LOVE THE FURMINATOR! I would definately purchase the larger brush to help cut down on brushing time. My dog looks great after she's brushed and the amount of hair I find in my house, my car, and the office is less than half of what it was before the Furminator. It's rediculously expensive but it works and because it works so well I definately think it's worth the cost!
The FURminator definitely furminates March 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After a friend introduced and showed how this brush, rake whatever you would call it, works I was hooked. We have a Golden Retriever and have tried many types of brushes without much success. Sure, we removed hair but only hair that had already come lose which turned out to be a fraction of what needed to be removed. The FURminator literally grabs hair and any hair that is lose or ready to detach comes off. I continued to rake handful after handful of hair off of Maggie until finally the handfuls got smaller and smaller as the ready-to-go hair was removed. This may be expensive compared to others but it is well worth it. It is also very tough. You can also purchase a new rake blade seperately should the need arrive. I highly recommend this brush...this rake...whatever it is, it works GREAT!!
Worth every penny March 9, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We have two cats (short-medium hair) and one dog,a chow-golden retriever-rottie mix.I usually brush them daily with a slicker brush, which was getting what I thought was alot of hair out of their coats. After one use of the Furminator I realise just how little the slicker was actually removing.I couldn't believe the quantity of undercoat I got off the dog,and how soft and well groomed he looked after one use. It's just like on the video...gobs and gobs of fur.Same thing with the cats, and now that I'm getting rid of so much of the normally shedded fur, there should be fewer hairballs too, another plus. The only drawback is the static, which causes the fur to really want to stick to your hands, arms, clothes, etc. And while the price may be a little steep for a pet brush/comb,once you try it you'll agree it's worth every penny.
Great comb March 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My dog is a lab and has an undercoat that sheds all year long! He hates the slicker brush and had to be given treats just to sit still long enough for me to use it. This comb is just the opposite. It is almost like a shaver for that fuzzy undercoat and my dog loves the way it feels. He lies still without being given treats. I highly recommend this for large medium hair dogs with an undercoat. Just remember to use it outside because there will be lots of hair flying.
Furminator works fur-real! March 9, 2007 I bought the furminator on the recommendation of a friend, who said it worked very well on her double coated dog. I have a Husky mix who *hates* to be brushed. The furminator works very well and she tolerates it a whole lot better than any other brush/comb I've tried to use on her! Thumbs up!
